Bent Lamination Dining Chair
In this video I make a set of #dining #chairs out of Maple using a variety of techniques. This was my first time making these chairs in a set of 4 and I’m really happy how they turned out! I used #bent #lamination to get the curve of the back rest. The joint between the seat and the legs took the longest to figure out, it needs to be strong and relatively easy to make. I’m looking forward to making more of these and seeing how the design evolves over time. Thanks for watching!

The credenza featured in this video is made from solid Walnut, Walnut burl veneer, Southern Yellow Pine, and Maple wood. The doors are frame and panel with a raised walnut burl veneered panel in the center. This project came about because I wanted to take on a long term project using materials I already had in my shop, and to make something that would store fasteners and hardware. In this video I make a #krenov style wooden #jointerplane. Its made using Wenge, African Blackwood, and a 1" Ron Hock plane iron. While quite small, these jointer planes are really workhorses. They perform many tasks including, but not limited too, flattening edges, shaping edges and curved faces, and fitting back panels. The plane is square, so it can be used on its side. This allows it to be ...

Welcome to the first video in this series! Im making this bookshelf for my newborn nephew, and I had a couple of design elements I wanted to incorporate. I wanted there to be storage crates. I figured he would keep his toys in there and grab them when it was story time. I also wanted the design to be modern(ish), minimal, and incorporate some curves to soften it up.
Make long dowels with this jig at the table saw #woodworking

In this video I make a jig for turning dowels on the table saw. Ive seen a lot of jigs for turning dowels. Some use a router, and other use a table saw in conjunction with a sled. The approach I took seems to be the safest and most efficient way to create any length dowel without having to maneuver a sled or create complicated jigs. Thanks for watching

Hobbyist woodworker here. This is the kind of content that I find really exciting. The production value is excellent, and I appreciate the lack of a VO or music track, which allows me to really hear and "feel" the vibe of your shop. As a serious hobbyist, I see woodworking as a chance to conceptualize something and then go through a series of problem-solving exercises to make it real. In this video I am able to witness some of that at the highest level, using equipment and techniques that, while not possible in my small shop, lead me to figure out my own methodology for some of these same processes. I've been waiting for a new video from you for some time. Please keep them coming!!

Thank you so much for the kind words! The past couple of years I’ve been focusing on building out a kids furniture brand. That’s the reason for the lack of videos lately. The chair in this video is actually just a scaled up version of my kids chair. I began working on it last winter, figuring out jigs and how to build it. I actually ended up ruining the first 4 I made for this client, so I had to make another 4. That was tough to swallow. I want to take this design further and make a rocking chair which would be more in line with a kids furniture brand than a dining chair. So stay tuned! I’ll make a video of the future rocking chair build, I just have to finish installing new sheathing and siding on my house first though haha

Are you happy with hard exotic woods for your cross pin? Many builders suggest other more compliant woods like hickory or mahogany to grab the cap iron better. Great build!

To form the round pin on the end of a piece like you did for the wedge stop, the easiest and fastest method I've ever found is to clamp the piece in a vise on the drill press and then come down on the end with an annular cutter. They make very precise diameters, and you can use the center pin to locate precisely on the stock. Just be sure to remove the center pin before you drill so you don't mar your work.

    • @FrankBowlesFurniture

Thanks! I’m not sure of the ratio, but the wedge angle is 5 degrees. I use a wood pattern to trace the angle on the workpiece, then cut it out.

Just AWESOME that you let us all know your sexual practices. Literally no other woodworker on CZcams does that. Not one. I so want to know, though, and they just don't don't do it. I'm not solely interested in the project, I want to know about their sexual habits. I only wish you could be more explicit about what you do. "Gay" doesn't really spell it out. Thank you so much for making that a part of your woodworking. It's so important. Keep up the good work!!!

Hi - nice video. I am always surprised to see woodworkers still using endangered, or near endangered wood. I wonder if you could comment on using Blackwood, or other rare and exotic woods. Further I wonder why people don't use native woods that you can verify to have been sustainably harvested- Thanks-
