Great question! Carbon Black Metallic is really just a dark blue, that appears black until light is reflected on it. Black Sapphire is just a black metallic paint, with no other colors that shine through. If we get a sunny day soon, we can do a quick video comparing the two!

Interestingly, my AC stopped working and I am having BMW looking at it this coming week. I’m hoping the compressor didn’t implode or else it will be disappointingly expensive to repair. I am assuming this is what happened in the video as the tubes were replaced due to particles in them.

2014 with 26k miles. Owned since new. It’s been a great car, but if major work is needed or loss of car because of the expense- I will feel let down. We also have 2 i3s. One is a 2021 i3s.

My wife’s i3 just had a new AC compressor fitted by BMW today and it cost GBP £2940 including 5 hours of labour. We have owned the car from new and it is a 2017 BEV model with 72k miles on the clock. The AC compressor noise comes from the rear of the car and is much harsher than it was when new. It wasn’t silent when new but the sound was more of a soft “whirring” sound whereas lately it is became a harsh growling noise. My advice is to get it checked if you suspect your compressor might be failing because it may get more expensive if it fails completely. I believe it can blow a fuse inside one of the electronics modules and that appears to require the motor to be removed to gain access, adding to the cost. Good luck.

Don't have the VIN number handy to check, but I remember it being the standard black soft top. The Moonlight Black Soft Top has a distinctly more grey appearance. Either would be a great choice!

Not only not breaking the bank people miss the important part here your also not breaking comfort this car for me is way better then m5 nobody goes to racing track maybe once a year ? This car already has good traction and all most importantly you get the comfort when you need it with speed

.4 seconds behind the M5 IF the M5 driver knows exactly how to Launch. If you can master it on your V8, you can outperform the M5 IN SOME Scenerios

The 2010 M3 with the V8 is truly a hard car to beat (despite what the numbers on the paper say). That being said, this M550i xDrive and the Tesla Plaid are both great choices. Naturally we would suggest an M550i xDrive, but, we are a little biased :D

Tesla S Plaid is definitely faster than this having almost 1000 horse power but this is overall a much better car built by a company with 100+ years of expertise in car making.

I did not test drive this specific M550i, but have had a chance to drive other M550i models. Too fast for my liking!

@gerhardgoedhart2107 mine didn't and its full range on 100% charge is 50miles lol. I have an i8 now. But they won't answer because it cost more then 50% of the cars actual value.

The Technician that performed the work said the ride was certainly firmer (but not harsh) after the installation. As for the height settings, we installed them at the recommended level, but don't have the actual MM noted anywhere so we can't speak to that, unfortunately.
