T-test and F-test in Excel using the Data Analysis Toolpak add-in
Excel isn't brilliant at running statistical tests, but the Data Analysis Toolpak add-in does make it a bit easier. If you don't have this add-in you'll need to add it in first.

Scatterplot with two y-axis in Excel
zhlédnutí 65KPřed 7 lety
It's pretty straight forward to make a scatterplot in Excel. But what if you want to plot 2 y-axis variables? In this video I show how to add a secondary y-axis to a scatterplot in Excel.
Create a chart of means for multiple groups on one graph with error bars
zhlédnutí 18KPřed 7 lety
Ever want to show several charts of means on one graph rather than have separate graphs? Excel doesn't make it easy! In this video I show you how to create a line chart of means and bar chart of means for multiple groups.

Scatterplot with 2 x-axis variables in Excel
zhlédnutí 214KPřed 7 lety
Need to make a graph, but have two x-axis variables? In this video I show you how to plot a second x-axis variable on a scatterplot. For this to work though, both x-axis variables need to be the same units!

Format a series on a scatterplot in Excel

Don't like Excel's default graph? Want to make it look more professional and/or personalise it? In this video I show how to format a graph using a scatterplot as the Example.
Chi-squared test and interpretation using SPSS (assumptions violated)
zhlédnutí 99KPřed 8 lety
A chi-squared test is preferred when correlating two categorical variables, one or both of which are nominal. This video shows how to compute a chi-squared test and how to interpret the output when assumptions have been violated. Please see the other chi-squared test video if assumptions have not been violated.
Reverse the coding of an ordinal variable in SPSS
zhlédnutí 9KPřed 8 lety
This example shows how to reverse code a likert scale question. This is useful when we have a mix of positively and negatively worded questions from a questionnaire and you need to test for reliability.
Reduce the number of groups of a categorical variable in SPSS
zhlédnutí 12KPřed 8 lety
This example shows how to reduce a 5pt likert scale to a 3pt likert scale by combining 'Strongly agree' with 'Agree' and combining 'Strongly disagree' with 'Disagree'. This is useful when we are mainly interested in whether or not people agree, disagree or have no opinion, but it's not important to know whether they strongly agree or strongly disagree.
Compute a total score from several variables in SPSS
zhlédnutí 90KPřed 8 lety
If you have 2 or more variables measuring the same factor or construct (often this happens in questionnaires), then you can combine them into one measure using a mean score or total score. This will create a new variable in your dataset. This new variable is what you will use for further analysis. This video shows how to compute a total score.

Create dummy variables from an existing categorical variable in SPSS
zhlédnutí 22KPřed 8 lety
If you want to use a nominal or ordinal variable with 3 or more categories in linear regression you first need to dummy code the variable. This is because independent variables in linear regression must be either scale or dichotomous. Dichotomous just means the variable is categorical with only 2 categories (e.g., Male/Female, Yes/No, etc.)
Change the coding of a variable using 'Recode into same variable' in SPSS
zhlédnutí 42KPřed 8 lety
If you need to change the coding of a variable and prefer to replace the existing coding rather than create a new variable, use the 'Recode into same variable' option in SPSS. In this example I change the coding of Gender from 1=Male, 2=Female to 0=Male and 1=Female.
Recode a scale variable into categories in SPSS
zhlédnutí 12KPřed 8 lety
This example shows how to recode a scale variable (e.g. Age) into a categorical variable (e.g. Age groups).
