Genuinely Im really excited for the game but like, delay based netcode actually does just suck and rollback is way easier to work with and apparently implement. This game looks so great so if anything voicing criticisms against things that look a little questionable is encouraged since you're spending money to play the damn thing. I'm also apprehensive about local multiplayer honestly, like I know we live in an age of online multiplayer but one of the most special things about the old Sparking games was going over to a friend's house to play them. I hope they give it full support later on.

Not having rollback isn’t the end of the world. Delay-based isn’t automatically bad, fighting games have gotten by with it just fine for years. Even if we were to get rollback, if implemented poorly it could be even worse than most delay-based games. Obviously good rollback would be ideal, but there’s no big reason to get especially concerned yet.

A game like DBSZ doesnt need the "rollback" netcode like people think. It's not as sensitive as traditional FGs. Plus, part of the experience that u lose with rollback (if there are consistent problems in the match) is hearing/seeing the same things at the same time, ie. particle simulations, sound and visual fx, and other animations. TL;DR: DBSZ will do fine with just delay-based netcode because it isnt that serious. But rollback wouldn't hurt.

To be honest at this point It's better Arena Fighter community build their own competitive scene apart then trying to relly on FGC attention for a EVO spot. Not only fighting games and Arena Fighters walked different paths over the years and now too many fighting games for the spots like Tekken 8, Street Fighter 6, GranblueFantasy Versus Rising, Mortal Kombat 1, Undernight 2, Guilty Gear Strive, 2XKO from RIOT, the returning of Fatal Fury franchise with a completely new game and the re-release of Marvel vs Capcom 2 that they will probably make a celebration or something like they did with Ultimate Marvel vs Capcom 3 last year and this year With Street Fighter 3. Probably will have a outrage or something if one of favorite FGC names from Capcom, Bandai(Tekken), SNK or Arc System was left over just for an Arena Dragon ball game, that only pleases more Anime fans than fighting game fans.

the old dbz titles were competive and held local and Lan tournaments from time to time. I remember cause i would often take part in these and they were super fun and a great way to meet other like minded people. So tbh yeah i do think sparking zero has the potential to be a esport while not taking away from the og love players have for these older OG dragonball games. While still catering to all the casual players out there
