I'm confused why does the tool create 3 zips from the 1 rom zip I have no matter what option I choose do. My set is like combinded into 1 rom with all clones and items to run it as 1 zip.

Hey, I also applied the crt pi filter and the lines show too small, as if they were hardly there or too small.. what could the reason be? This happens on a more modern laptop.. looks fine on an older one..

This is great. Totally bamboozled trying to get my head around clrmamepro, trying to locate other rom managers that seem to have have been abandoned back in Windows 7, installed and tried Launchbox - but it doesn't go back far enough (I wanted the mame0139 romset). THIS VIDEO WORKED BRILLIANTLY! Thanks so much! Through using this for other builds it's surprising that my 0139 set is only slightly smaller than 0267 (current version) - approximately 200 more valid games (for my tastes) in 13 years. Shocking! There are a lot of calculators and weight loss roms 😅 Not what I planned for my Steam deck 😂😂😂

Took me a bit of fiddling but I got there in the end. I was unsure as to wethee the .bat file needed to be preempted by pointing it to the relevant file. Then I neglected to include chdman.exe within the target file. Thank you so much for this tutorial, it really helped.

Are you using a full merged rom set in the video or Non merged set? I did this process with a full merged set but its importing 2900 games out of the 1400 roms. BTW im using LB frontend. Im a bit stumped.

Thanks for the video. Got my rom folder down to 7gb. I wanted to filter out Japanese but RomLister was looking for rlmacros.txt file. Found it with a search on Google. Just need to go through a wee manual filtering myself now.

Thanks for the great video. Only problem I'm having now is a few seconds after the splash screen and for a split second before the game loads, I get a white rectangular border flashing around the entire edge of the screen. It only does it on my Pi 4 with this set up, but not my Pi 3. Tried disabling and reenabling shaders, changing aspect ratio to core, 3:2, full screen, and back again, nothing works. Any idea what it is? Only thing that is different between the Pi 3 and 4 that I haven't tried is my Pi 4 is outputting HDMI, and my Pi 3 outputting VGA through a VGA666 hat (both 1920x1080). Gonna switch this up later and see if the problem remains or isolated to HDMI out. EDIT: I think the problem is Retroarch related, cause whenever I have Shaders enabled ( using the Curved CRT shader), the flashing white boarder is curved like the shader, as opposed to rectangle when Shaders are off.

You think I could follow this guide to get a current Pi 2B running one MAME ROM, Frogger, to boot straight into the ROM when powered on? I'd like the fastest boot straight into the ROM, closer to an actual Frogger cabinet.

Awesome Q: I've trimmed down my unmerged romset .262 to around 2k games with future updates (.262 to .263, etc) do I need to just download the update (my roms are unmerged but it seems all updates on progetto are merged) then I download the update DAT file, run the update & dat thru clrmame and rebuild to my current romset directory? I know it will look to update 'every' game in .263, but it will only find my filtered romset. Will it simply update my romset and ignore the rest? I also know there's a dat file export at arcadeitalia for clrmame maybe I can go that route and create a DAT file of only my filtered games? Hope the q makes sense. Right now when I want to update I'm just doing a clean install from unmerged scratch using clr mame & the full set dat (I know about half of what I need to know, so forgive if the question is witless)

For me it does not work. For some reason it cannot recognize chdman as name of an executable. Everything else befor (Dir and stuff) looks exactly the same as in your video. :/

I am very new to this. I am trying to help my dad out as he is way more clueless about this type of stuff than me.. I am usually just a hardware guy but I am trying to help him get sky shark on his raspberry pi. Your video has helped me more than any other video on CZcams and I get literally 99% of the stuff you are saying the only thing I dont understand is where you are getting/how you know the romset you used is non merged. I am at the part of putting the rollback rom in the rebuilder. I just dont want to put the wrong rom set in and mess anything up

I learned a lot of things, especially with the very useful tables that I didn't know. A quick question to make sure I understand everything: do you have to extract the XML file each time when Mame 2003 plus is updated via Retroarch? Thanks again for this perfect video.

Amazing! Thank you! I also found it helpful to remove all of the additional emulators as part of the "main packages" and I also removed the splash screen along with that so now I see almost nothing (including RetroPie and Emulation Station screens) till it boots.

I don't understand why in MAMEROOT=c:\MAME instead of select the MAME folder, you selected the ROMSet

i think merged is good for building sets from. like if you keep a full up to date merged set and keep your rollbak set up to date nest to it you could easily spit out lots of sets without using as much storage as a full non merged set would.
