I drove locomotives underground in the late 70s and 80s at Coventry colliery. Worked on 58s district with Spike Haywood and Alan Cooper . Great men and excellent deputies. Remember them days well and would love to bring just one more train of coal out and then the man rider. So sad that will never happen again. Respect to all miner’s.

My grandad worked down there and my great grandad too. After a couple of generations everybody thought they were sorted with a job. And then..
My dad's uncle was fire officer at Coventry and my dad worked there for thyssens
In another 10-20 years all those rings will collapse.
