The batteries in the middle are shorting between themselves because it's not a proper fit. You should insert a divider between their ground.

I did this replacement without removing the analogue stick cable from the motherboard, which saved me a lot of time. This step is simply not required. You can just *gently* set it aside while swapping the circle pad 🙂

I installed a new laser today and it's not spinning. I de soldered the bridge. Put the old laser back in and it spins fine. Tried new one again and same issue. Just jutters a few times and stops. Any ideas anyone.

What is your opinion on removing the little plastic white piece that covers the 90 degree switch for the left and right bumpers? Some people take them out entirely and there seems to be no problem. What is their purpose and should they be left in?

Pro tip: don't use 9V battery in these testers, the wiring and PCBs inside the joysticks might not like this high of a voltage and heat up causing damage to it. Get 3V LEDs and 2 AA batteries instead.

Hi, do you know if this can record the average current draw over time? Maybe if you press Max/Min 3 times? On the image on the box it shoes 'AVG' next to 'REL' so I wondered if that meant average? I need to record average battery drain on my car. Thank you.

It's the mains filter, it suppresses RF mains interference. Also, the second one will surely blow as well.
