I considered Mirus carefully. But opted for Bent 90. Why? I already have powder skis. I can find a pair of all mountain & a pair of dedicated groomer skis - two pairs of skis- for the price of 1 Mirus Cor. Albeit those two pair of skis were at clearance prices. Bent90 $389 Cdn. My reasoning, as much as I’d love to own one pair of Mirus, it could not out perform 3 pairs of skis.
Plz share information on where and how to get the pro silk similator.
From us! We are the UK distributor & have them in stock 👍
There is no other ski like this in the world? Line Blade entered the chat… Seriously tho, these are CRAZY fun.
No doubt that the Blade, like this, is quite different. However, they are quite different skis to ski, the blade is more powerful 👍
Thanks
What do you consider a light weight skier? My Din is 8. I jump alot, (but not high. Im 45yo! 5'4" 160lbs) no rails and no drops over 6-7' I recently started buying attack elevens. To save both money and weight. I really haven't noticed any difference between attack fourteen and eleven. Do you think i'm on the wrong binding?
I need to know what skis I should get. I'm pretty good at skiing, and I am looking for all mountain skis. I'm 15 180cm but still growing a bit so should I also get like 188 - 190 cm ski length? I want to use it for piste and off piste but mostly powder. I've looked at a few skis but getting some tips wouldn't hurt.
Drop us a message online & we can certainly help 👍
Just found your videos. It’s refreshing to have a UK ski Channel. Great informative video. Very well explained, especially the advice for online buyers. Looking forward to the ski servicing videos.
Just get Pivots
Word
100% this. Worth every penny.
They're the best. But I don't know if they're worth the price for the average person.
Thanks for the video. Which is the ski stopper size? 90?
Hello, I'm looking for new skis. I mainly ski on groomers but occasionally venture into the woods or snow park. I prefer a playful ski but want to carve and have good performance on pist as well. I've been skiing for 14 years and consider myself very skilled. I'm 1.83m tall and weigh 95kg. I Ski in Europe (France and Austria mainly) I'm currently considering the "Blackops 98" or the "Blackcrows Captis." Any other or better suggestions?
Loads of options in this area, maybe more Serpo or Mirus Cor from Black Crows if you like to CARV. I love the Nordica Enforcer amongst others 👍
I am considering purchasing some used skis that come with the Shift 13 bindings, they are currently sized for 28/28.5 boots, but I need 29/29.5. Is this possible without having the bindings redrilled?
Same question here. Anyone knows?
Pretty cool that Jesse Pinkman does ski reviews
Brilliant 😂
Why does this not work with the pivot 14 tho?
Which boot is best for flat feet slight collapsing, slight arch, with a side of plascar facitis, slight bunions, and an in grown toe nail on the left big toe (under control ) *SMH*
Very excited about that K2 because of the fit around the toe box. I think I need room there but I hope it is just enough room so I keep balance and alignment. Great share
The electric would not be most effective in tightening the screws?
It’s inclusive
yeah I demo'ed it last winter and will demo it once more to confirm and then grab a pair this 2024 winter, what you reckon, 173 or 178, I am 174, strong skier, ski anything anywhere, play in the park with my adult sons. I got some 173 rossi sender 104 for powder and all mountain, cheers
100% 178 as a minimum as these ski really short in our humble opinion :)
These ski short so 178.
Which size would you recommend? Im 182 cm
The clearest mounting instruction for a complicated binding. Thank you
Nice review. I am really considering bying a pair of these, but as they only have up to 184 cm and I am 197 cm and weighing around 87 kg. I have a pair of factions 189 cm which i use mostly for park and a pair of 106 armadas 189 cm which i use for a little bit of everything. Do you think I will have a good time on these skis?
Honestly, I think you will find that they feel short, but try to get on a demo pair to check how it feels if you can 👍
Interesting vibe....how about something for...no park, more side hits etc and diving in and out of some proper pow but still lots of fun?
I'd love to have this in the gym next to the ski erg! Def perf this to a bose ball and KB!
Epic catches Ash!
This or the maverick 95ti 2023?
Excellent video.
"Promosm"
could you please help out with the Atomic Hawk XTD 110? I see that the soles are glued on.....are they replaceable or are the boots disposable ? I'm stuck between the Salomons and the Atomics. I love the options and looks of the Atomics, but the grip soles worry me.
I just got a pair for this season and I’m super stoked. Great looking skis, very durable from the looks and videos on them, I’m excited to try them out once the snow hits!!!
Price ?
'promo sm'
Great video I’m also a ski technician
Hi, do you recommend Racetiger SC or SL? Is there a big difference in terms of performance, agility and handling? At both skis, radius is almost similar.
Hello! Can we use it with ski boots?
Hi There, yes you can when using the P-Type adapter. Thanks :)
Just bought these bindings and I find it hard to lock the walk mode. Feels like I’m gonna brake it. Is this normal? Salomon Shift boots, Atomic shift 13. The toe part of the boot rubs on the binding just a bit also.
Just got some too. Same issue. I think the oil needs working in. So go through the full range up and down several times with no boot there and it’ll free up . First time will be very hard to move it. . After that try it with the boot, again first time time will be tough. Keep going to free it up.
@@alanlucker5048 It got better after few times. I used my pole under the leaver and pulled with both hands.
see we're all pros here 😂 my protip to you all I'm sure you all know but maybe you don't I keep a.006 feeler gauge hanging by the bench it's the same as two pieces of paper doubled over and it doesn't rip when wet sometimes or snow and stuff when you're working or a little too tight the paper hopefully that will help somebody that doesn't know
To avoid confusion I refer to the mark on the ski as the Mid- Sole mark or Recommend Mounting Point. When you use the term’ Center Point some people interpret that as being the Center of the ski length that many Park Skiers like to mount their Twin Tip skis for riding “ Switch”(backwards). Traditional Mid- Sole marks are behind the True Center on directional skis. I have noticed some confusion on this terminology. Some ski manufacturers have a Recommended Mid Sole mark plus several marks in one centimeter increments for skiers who like to be more forward on the ski.
Hi, as far as I’m aware there are three brands for this: Head, Tyrolia and Elan. Are they all the same in terms of mounting? In other words, will the Head PR13 fit the Elan Fusion X rails, and vice versa?
Rossi / Look had turntable heel release bindings out decades ago😊
What’s the binding thinking about buying a pair
Hi, is 2020 SC 153cm too short for a guy like me? I'm 5'10 and 165lbs.
hey i think I met you on my trip in NZ. Do you work at a shop in wanaka?
Great skis. I have the yellow racetiger sc. solid on the piste and in icy condition. Super agile.
Very good explanation. I'm trying to track down which Solomon Atomic jig will work with the Shift bindings. Do you have part# or name that I could use to find one to purchase. I live in remote Wyoming and need to mount 7 plus skis with shifts.
Find a jig? If not.... Part # L39894700 shift jig.
The online literature states that the 11 din has a TX toe whereas the 13 din has an RX toe. I can’t find any explanation of what that means anywhere. I ski with my din set at 6 so I can’t see a reason to go with the 13s over the 11s. Can you explain the difference between the 2 toes and if I am missing anything rationalizing going with the 11s over the 13s based on my current din setting? Thanks
Hi there, The RX toe is a better toe piece with a more modern release system. However, it shouldn't make any difference to the way the heel of the binding is designed to reduce knee injury.
Great video thanks! Could you show how to calculate and adjust the DIN setting? Thanks
To calculate try Din Calculator online 👍
Thanks for review. Going to buy this skis. How do you think, what length will be better, 165vs170 for my 182sm/80 kilos.
Hi There, thanks for the comment. Based on your height probably the 170, but if you prefer shorter turns you can go 165 👍
Hello, which length do You bought and how it feels? Im the same height but 5 kg heavier than You... my slalom skis were always around 165, but this ski is a tip rocker, thats why im considering to go size up to 170 cm. Thanks
Is this a Look Pivot?
Nope, this is a different system by Tyrolia with multiple heel releases. It's specifically designed to prevent knee injuries & proven to do so. We still love Look Pivots too ✌️
@@TheSkiExchange what is the model or name of the Tyrolia pivot binding?
How does the heal travel compared to the look pivot bindings?
@carterfan there is not really any lateral heel travel with the pivot binding, it is more about rotation. With the Protector there is 7mm of lateral travel (3.5mm each side) before lateral release. The performance of the Protector is compared to Tyrolia's existing heel release. We also sell Pivot bindings which we love. If the Protector is used as part of a rail system it allows the ski to flex under foot. The mounting of Pivot bindings ensures the screw holes are directly below the heel of the ski boot and knee, this shortens the space between toe and heel drilling helping reduce the ski boot from blocking natural ski flex. Either option would be a good choice
