The age , the thickness of the boards, the type of runner used, and nail type and length all make a difference in what you can us to dismantle a pallet. the one you show has about a 3/4 inch thickness and shows some age to it, I would probably cut the boards as even if they are not cracking the nails are pulling through and the end of the board will need to be cut off anyway. Got a really good pallet buster from Vevor that was a lot like the one you built but has 2 sided claws that put equal pressure on the boards, for us non welders it is a good deal. I have found that the runners are some of the best wood from pallets. The worst wood is the cheap plywood they use. I am poor and use almost only pallet wood and wood found on the roadside for all my projects. The colors that come through after planing are really quite nice. Specialty pallets that they have added 2x4s to for special purpose, are my favorite.they add new wood and usually use screws to attach it making it easy to save the wood.

Did you have any issues with snow/ice accumulation on the top? Example: did you need to periodically remove snow and ice from the roof? It's beautiful! Great idea.

I just moved into a new place. The movers ruined my new landlord’s linoleum brick floors in several places. They dropped their dolly and many cuts in the floor. Is it repairable or just have to replace all the flooring?

Awesome! I find that the tension pulley is easier to replace with the back cover off.

What a handy tool. The swivel head is what makes it for me. I have found that the wood tends to split when using fixed heads. A swivel head is a must.

Purchased some used fleet wheels for my Sierra for $60 a couple weeks ago, $6 can of Rustoleum bright silver and a can of clear i had in the garage=$70 spares

Hello, I have the same exact problem and am going to attempt this myself before calling in the pros. But would you say it is easier to do it from the back since the pulley is toward the back? And maybe then putting the belt back on the tensioner is easier? Also, did you order a new belt as well? The other videos I've watched just have changed the pulley or tensioner part. So now I wonder if I need to go ahead & buy a belt as well. I would need to check to see if I need to replace the wheels on my unit, but were yours broken or damaged in any way because I didn't see that on the video? And finally, what is the name of the pulley and where did you order it? Thank you in advance for your advice.

Awesome job. I love the pivoting lifting foot that evenly spreads the effort, preventing much splitting of boards. Paint it pink! You won’t misplace it and pink things don’t get stolen as frequently!

When you say “removing the front clip” at 6:30 which clip are you referring too? I have tried for hours to get the belt to stay on routing it on the smaller lip of the drum and “walking” it up. The belt from the kit I installed is 93.5” and seems incredibly tight. I am going to try and loosen the motor to maybe get some more slack. What is a simple job is turning to be a headache especially when you watch so many other videos with people installing new idler pulleys with one hand (ones without tensioner spring). Thanks

I've made several pallet buster bars but still haven't found the ideal set up yet. - I've been using black pipe for the handle's which are really beefy. "Heavy: The design I use has the wrecker straddle the runner with 1/2 in flat bar which fits under the 5in slats .... It really works good, except I left 3.5 inches so when i get a pallet with 2 runners or 4x4 runners, it's not a problem. I think there should be different styles for the 1x4 slats. Hope to make a video soon. I like your set up and might give it a go...

Try PUSHING the weld, the opposite to arc welding. Also, tack the bit's on the corners, not in the middle's. Looks neater when finished. Also easier to break a tack off if the parts don't line up.
