I replaced my 50 yr old helm & cable on my 1971 HOBO houseboat with the modern equivalent replacement kit from Seastar. The new unit had quick connect fittings which made the job easier BUT there were a number of differences, one of which required some rework to my console. The end result was quite satisfactory.

Watch the video for all the reasons I say you should NOT repair these lights! I have had 5 out of 8 of these FAIL in the past 2 years. I'm fed up with these bargain lights and have investigated the cause to understand more specifically "why did it fail?".
