    Why even bother with a black bull pump? Why not pump from the fuel pump to the brush?

  • @kccarrtheoregonhillbillyhi4803

    I know it's 2 years passes video but you need to use a pipe threading that will not be eaten away from solvent on few have a distributor locally that has gas stations you can go get some pipe dope from them that'll work

    hilbilly wrenchin, those hose fittings in your filter adapter are usually pressed in. If you can wiggle or pull them out, coat them with epoxy and press them back in, it will probably work. If you got that adapter on Amazon, they would probably replace it if it was leaking. Good luck.

  • @jc9930

    Aluminum threads into aluminum housing must be very careful tightening. Remove and inspect for cracks. Just snug them because there is really no pressure to hold. Aviation sealant should also fix the threads from leaking and is also a valuable item to keep around the garage. Never dries but becomes thick and tacky. I believe it is fuel resistant and can allow threads to come loose in the future. If all else fails get adapters made of brass instead of aluminum.

  • @nathanr.8556
    @nathanr.8556 Před 3 lety

    Permatex High Tack on the threads will stop the leak. It is rated for all automotive fluids.

    Bolt was put in by Johnny engineer, as a redundancy for failure. If the nut were to come off, then the bolt won't rattle back out and let your engine thrash around. Sometimes its a pain in the ass for a reason.

    Question: My '10 Santa Fe is having an intermittent starting issue now - just started doing this last night. I don't get the *click click click* when I turn the key though. I get what sounds like it's firing up to start, but then I get this sound like a belt is turning but not engaging, a whining sound. If I turn the key off, depress the brake, turn the key back on (not to start it, but to turn on the electricals) and move the gear shifter around, then back to park, the car will then start. Do you think this could be the same issue? I can't stand giving money to the dealership when they just keep trying different things and charging you hundreds of dollars.

    • @mercedeschristie9386
      @mercedeschristie9386 Před 5 lety

      My 01 Santa fe after 3 days of -10 degrees weather is making whining sound. We brought the battery in the house over the minus zero days, and haven't got it started since putting it back in. Just the whining noise. Will try depressing the brake, shifter knob thing, that usually works.... I have driven my Santa Fe 01 back and forth from Michigan to Panama city beach Florida and back 3 times in 2018

    • @mercedeschristie9386
      @mercedeschristie9386 Před 5 lety

      And, by the way, even though the odometer and speedometer haven't worked since 197,400 miles, I'm sure I have 220,000 miles or more on it. It was stolen from my yard just after Christmas, cops recovered it, but a key or something was lodged in the ignition cylinder, which we disengaged and removed. Car was starting good after that with key, but trouble after the minus zero days and not driving or starting it during that

    I have an 2010 santa fe and experienced the exact same symptoms for 3 weeks now. My battery checked out good on that load test, the service department said my starter failed on the diagnostic equipment. They installed a new starter and thought my issue was solved, sure enough 10 days later i came to start it and click, click ,click , same old thing as before. Thats when i began researching the issue while i waited for the service department to return my call, and i came across your video and laughed, and said OMG it sounds familiar and thought i would try your fix, and by God it worked. I really want to thank you and why the heck doesn't and Hundayi service department know of this fix. Again thanks
