The move orderse are a 'reset to baseline' order, try using the manual commands, on the right of the modules screen. You have the keep at distance and such there, I remember they can be set to move, and won't affect weapons. Also, you might want to swap in some Gattling guns instead of relying on the Uranium GG, because they fire faster, and the Uranium GG is far behind in the tech ladder, the Gattling out-performs it IIRC.

Strong enough lasers can punch through shields... I would pile on the lasers, and then have like, a single kinetic gun to plink away after taking out weapon generators and shields... I made it a challenge to myself, I'd disable weapons, shields and primary engines permanently, then move on to the next target. If there were ally ships I don't control, they'd usually target onto disabled ships like that to finish them off. I was a menace.

Thanks for posting this! I've played through the entire story campaign twice. So many great memories! So much great gameplay! Especially love the "phwoom-phwoom-phwoom" going through the gates, and the fact that Trent was voiced by "Steve from 90210"!

I was interested in this game but falling for Colonial Marines and then seeing reviews for this at launch... Well, time to take another look at it.

Two decades later and still nothing as good as this. Political intrigue, conspiracy paranoia, space, aliens, combat and more. Surprised Netflix hasn't made a TV show of it, because they could.

Gods I loved this game back in the day

I'm picturing Trent sitting in the ship getting ready to leave the station. When the doors open and the operator says "you're clear to depart. stay safe out there.", all we see out there is a serious dogfight happening. What's going through Trent's mind? "No thank you. I'll stay right here for a bit."

You can save the commandos in the base by recalling them. I did that the first time even before I knew it would work.

I just realised I have had this Game ever since it was Digitally Released. And I never got around to Playing it

back in the day, when it came out, i played it so long and so hard, i used up like 3 or 4 dvd's back then, or was it cd's... cant remember anymore... And still there were rumors of freelancer 2, that never come, only yhat a german fan made darkstar one Even now, this game still hold out Hell we got a new version of it, with the name underspace, a freelancer base game with a lovecraft mod slapt to it And thanks to your video i can now get freelancer back and start playing the old one all over again ^^

8:50 would´nt it be better to concentrate fire on a few things rather then spreading the damage all around? so that you can disable and destroy some things quick rather then doing it slowly?

Great choice of game, looking forward to the playthrough! Still bitter that of all the shovelware "kickstarter hype projects" that got funded, somehow Nexus: The Jupiter Incident 2's campaign flopped.

Looks a lot like Colony Wars on PS1.

One of the two games that's given rise to "Star Citizen" and the soon to be released "Squadron 42" single-player campaign from CIG.

The UI are so small i barely can read anything

They did a great job with the ambiance for this game. The background chatter and the music was so good.

I loved this game when I first played it. I also loved setting up a vs AI match, and setting up the Support Ship with its Citadel bubble shield, and plinking away at enemies outside of it. That doesn't seem to work in any of the digital copies I bought to try and recapture the feeling. Glad to see this again though.

Now this is another blast from the past. 20 years ago the visuals pretty much blew my mind. It still looks pretty good today honestly.

You'd of thought failing to protect your main target in the first mission would've spelt an end to his career...
