I would put the coin in a acid free flip keep from further damaging the coins from scratches/ hand oils.

You have some coin dealers or collectors put old money into circulation to keep the hobby going/ interesting, or it could have came out of someones collection who have passed away and the family just spent the coin. I would have your family member to keep a look out of change coming into the store harder because it could more coming in or already in the store safe.

These quarters are such a stupid disgrace of American currency. It's worst coin I've ever seen. I was putting money in vending machine for a drink and this pos coin spit back out . I didn't know what kind or what country it was from. I thought it was a total mess up on the coin because it was soo bare . But yea the machine didn't even want this pos coin. Something the ignorant libs drew up and Biden pushed for it. Democrats ruining America

If these marks are depressions, they are just damaged coins. Worth 25 cents each. Die chips cause RAISED AREAS on the coin surface, not gouges or depressions.

Awesome tip on getting the coupon. I was gifted the 2023 Red book from my maintenance man here and im so glad i have one, especially now that i have a digital coin microscope. They go hand in hand. I am curious how different the 2024 and the 2023 are outside of it having the 2024 mintages (maybe, im assuming)
