FINALLY!!! I found someone with my same plant! Looks kinda like mine. So the gray look on the bottom half doesn’t indicate death? I once over watered my reverted phili and it went grey, it’s still alive and well’ish what kinda soil do you use as in individual components. Do you make it chunky or mid chunky with soil like fox farm or do you use topdress fertilizers ?

BEAUTIFUL!! What fertilizer (N-P-K ratio) did you use on the "Waianae Leopard 'Ching-Hua' Spots?" You did something REALLY RIGHT because this flower doesn't typically open so fully (have a good "presentation") or have much if any green. This has STRONG green!!! If someone has this same plant but the tag says "Rlc." instead of "Blc." it is the EXACT SAME PLANT. I have a younger clone of this plant. I can tell because the tag says "Rlc." instead of "Blc." But the rest, "Waianae Leopard 'Ching-Hua' Spots" is exactly the same. This is because about 15 years ago biologists did a VAST genetic comparison of the genus heritage of many "Blc." hybrids and found they actually decend from Rhyncholaelia rather than Brassavola. So, newer clones of the exact same plants now say "Rlc" instead of "Blc," but the plants are NO DIFFERENT. With that said, I was beginning to question if that was 100% true because every now-and-then someone shows a picture of this flower with prominent green. They should all be genetically identical because they are all clones. This plant/flower especially intrigued me because, like most people, my flowers had almost no green and did not fully open with a good "presentation." I have traditionally used "Jack's Classic Orchid Bloom Booster" LIQUID (3-9-6) N-P-K on all my plants during bloom because the high ratio of P (phosphorus) produces large flowers with deep colors that fully open with a good presentation for 95% of my plants. It is also the best, easy to find "OTC" orchid fertilizer I have found in over 20 years of orchid growing. It also has about the strongest ratio of P (phosphorus) you can safely hit an orchid with without damaging them. At least on a regular basis. But this flower falls into the 5% group that I could never get to fully open nor have the deep colors I thought they should/could have, regards of the countless, easy to find fertilizers you can pick up at any hardware store. I was beginning to think either there was some small genetic "drift" which can happen if a clone, of a clone, of a clone, of a clone is done too many times. Or, more likely, the tag was wrong and my plant is actually one of several variations on this flower. However, the tag is printed, just like this plant. If the original tag had been lost and replaced with a handwritten tag, a mistake would make sense. But it is exactly the same but with the updated "Rlc." Regardless, I was disappointed that my plant did not produce much, if any green which is IMO the superior version of this plant. So I decided this year that since I couldn't bring out more color, perhaps I could produce flowers on this plant with more open flowers by increasing the the K, potassium even higher. So, I changed to a high-quality pure hydroponic fertilizer called "CNS17 Bloom" (2-2-3) by Botanicare. As I expected, the higher ratio of K to P DID help the flowers open much wider with a much better presentation. What I didn't expect was, IT BROUGHT OUT THE GREEN!!! And it was a very deep green, just like this plant! It also proved that the change from "Blc" to "Rlc" is just a formality and they are exactly the same, regardless of the name. So, that's why I'm wondering what fertilizer and N-P-K ratio you used. Like I said, I have tried all kinds of "cheap" OTC fertilizers and none produced either the color OR presentation the high-end hydroponic fertilizer I had to mail order from a hydroponic store did. If anyone else has experience with this flower and found an easy to find fertilizer that produces both the deep green AND open flowers it is capable of producing, please share.

Do you just keep water in the bucket with the dying pup or will that rot the roots ? Also I just bought osmocoat slow relapse fertilize for my new pup I bought . It says spring and fall but should I add fertilizer to the top now ?

Great video. I grow organic outdoor cannabis and also have tons of houseplantsnts and they all love it. I do one leaf per 5 gal bucket and pour it on all my plants. The only reason I don't do more is because the aloe is my wife's plant and she doesn't know I clip them.😎
