It happened to me once but on the plain g string on e standard tuning. I use a 54-11 for E standard on a les paul and the plain g string had the same trouble. What i did was i filed the saddle so the plain string fit perfectly. Maybe it would help. Cheers!

I've switched to Pro Steel strings and 12-52s work just fine. No problem doing drop B or B standard either. But im on a 25.5in scale guitar so that could make a lil bit of difference over a 24.75in scale

I use a gibson les paul baritone (28 in) for drop A# tuning. Other than that I actually go for gibson scale for my other guitars.
