    Thanks for this great video covering all the deats of this B and B line! I sort of “accidentally stumbled onto” the Surf Foam Shampoo and I LUV it!! I cannot bring myself to even try the other shampoos I bought at the same time while searching for my volume shampoo 😬🤔 I’m considering adding the conditioner to my LUV Surf Foam Shampoo. B/C I first found this at Ulta, I didn’t even know all these other goodies existed!! And now I’m looking at adding even more products from this line!! This shampoo is AAAHHH MAAA ZZZINNNNGGG!!! My hair is thick, dry, and wavy. B/C it’s so thick, it’s easily weighted down at the roots. But NOT w/THIS shampoo!! I love this stuff and can’t rave enough about it!! It’s moisturizing!! Yes, that’s right!! My hair feels soft, hydrated, and silky when I rinse. Even when I follow w/my usual masque or conditioner my hair is voluminous and bouncy and my roots are lifted … I can’t stop looking at it … my roots are lifted!!! And I love running my hands thru it. Seriously this is the ONE THING I’ve changed to my hair routine and I have lifted roots and bounce that lasts for days … even with OUT adding ANY root or volume boost styling products!! I agree THIS Lil Baby is a “sleeper” that needs to be awakened!! It is absolutely excellent!!

      @@8iulz Hi! Try the new seaweed shampoo and conditioner as a daily wash. you also may like the surf shampoo/ conditioner because it has a bit of salt in it, but it still translates as soft, so it will help give your straight hair a bit of texture. I'd also recommend the surf styling leave in as your styling product. it reduces frizz but has a really soft hold that will, essentially, build waves without any crunch. apply to towel dried hair, comb through to saturate all your hair and then scrunch or twist your hair into waves- let it set / dont touch until full dry, then gently break apart with a wide tooth comb or your hands. Hope this helps! : )

      A pommade could work, but i am worried about the heat of your scalp causing the opposite of the desired effect. Have you tried the pret-a-powder "puff"? Once the hair is dry, you can section out the hair and do a puff or two at the root area and this will create instant volume. A little will go a long way. If you hair is darker, apply under the top layers as it can create a bit of mattefication. Hope this helps! Shan

    • @ShannonfromBumbleandbumble
      @ShannonfromBumbleandbumble Před rokem

      Hi Olivia! Good Question!! Bumble is all about mixing products together. I'd try either the curl mousse or the light defining creme, but it could help with texture to add some of our original surf spay into your "defining/ hold" product of choice. The surf spray original (black bottle) looks amazing in curls that need a bit more texture. You can either literally add this to the product in your hand, or lighty mist over your curls when you're setting them! You can air dry or diffuse, but i feel like it helps with texture/ lift to diffuse. Also, if your actual strands are fine, trying one of the thickening products like the Thickening Mask (1x a week, replace your typica conditioner) or the go big treatment (apply to damp hair, then layer styling products on top) will help actually increase the diameter of each strand! Hope this helps! Shannon

It is designed to plump each individual hair strand until you wash your hair next- so it's more about creating soft density. If you're looking for a leave in conditioner- take a peek at my primers videos. If you hair is fine and healthy, pick prep- If your hair is fine and somewhat dry use tonic. If it's brittle and dry (fine, medium, thick) choose Hairdressers invisible oil primer, If you're curly, pick the curl primer/ reactivator :) Hope this helps!

    • @ShannonfromBumbleandbumble
      @ShannonfromBumbleandbumble Před rokem

      Hi There! I alway ask: is the main concern to nourish brittle curls that need moisture or help frizz ? If it's help with frizz, i'd stick with the the Hairdresser's invisible oil line. If it's moisture for brittle strands/ not uniform curl pattern- i'd use the curl shampoo/ conditioner. We also have a new Ultra Rich version of the Hairdresser's Invisible Oil line, which is awesome because it's designed to keep frizz at bay for 72 hours! Also, don't be afraid to any / all of these lines, as hair can have different needs each time it's washed and especially seasonally. In regards to stying- the curl creme is for 2a-3c curl patterns. The original version is going to be for people with more hair on their head (higher density), the light version is for less dense/ finer curls The mousse is very light and soft- i love to use this on finer 2a-3c curl patterns that need a little volume and help holding a curl- this item is great to diffuse in. The Curl Anti Humidity gel oil has the hold of a gel, softness of an oil and helps with frizz! This can also provide some elongation if applied fairly densely and twisted/ combed into each ringlet. If emulsified and raked or scrunched in, it gives great control but stays soft- no crunchies. I hope this helps! I've got a curl video + an HIO ultra rich video if you'd like to check out more :)

      Aw thanks so much!! These are my holy grails: I am obsessed with the bond building shampoo and conditioner- if you are chemically lightened and heat style it will make your hair stronger and softer. In terms of styling products the surf foam spray blow-dry is amazing. Spray a few sprays throughout the root and then blow-dry- it will give you lift and separation and soft texture. I also use the Save the Day serum as a split end sealer and for shine- on wet and dry hair. For a refresher- I use The Thickening Dry Spun finish like water- you can add as much as you like, whenever you like to refresh or style- it gives you a bit of separation and lift, but doesn't build up. Hi Erica! The this line is going to be best for people with fine, straight to wavy hair who are going to be using heat to blow-dry out straight or heat styled a bend with a brush. The thickening spray is not going to be an ideal choice for air-drying your 2c/ 3c curls. Without actually seeing your hair, I may suggest the thickening go big treatment + the curl mousse to style with if you are looking for volume but want to air dry without dryness. The thickening go big treatment is going to be sprayed in lightly throughout the hair, concentrating on roots, then you can layer with the mousse, define/ set your curls to your preference then air-dry. In terms of shampoo/ conditioner- try hairdressers invisible oil! light enough to build volume, but will definitely keep your hair moisturized. Hope this helps!

    Hi Shannon, As you know, you’re my go to for all BB products! So, as I’ve gotten older, I’ve noticed the crown on my head has lost volume and had flattened tremendously. That being said, what product would your recommend for that? I’m thinking the thickening spray but wanted your opinion. Also, when I do add curls, who doesn’t love the Victoria Secret hair?! With that being said, my hair is not thin, it’s medium texture. That said, what products would you recommend? Thanks as always!!! Xo

      If you want the soft 90s supermodel volume, i'd definitely look into the great body blow-dry. This product will nourish, add volume and has heat protection. It also includes the emblica technology that increases the diameter of each hair strand. This means that the hair will stay voluminous until you wash it next : )

    • @ShannonfromBumbleandbumble
      @ShannonfromBumbleandbumble Před 2 lety

      Hello Susan, This is much more "slippery" than the other pomades. It's really malleable and buoyant feeling. It is designed to soften and smooth curls (wet or dry) with a slightly-denser-than-a-gel feeling. It is not waxy and does not require a lot of emulsification like the pomades. Hope this helps!

    Hi Shannon, I have long color treated blonde (I.e. highlights and balayage). My au natural hair is medium thickness and has a natural wave/curl. I’d say in between a 2b and 2c. I live in South Florida so the weather is predominantly hot and humid. I’m looking for products that will enhance my natural wave NOT curl. I love your videos as they’re extremely detailed and educational. I’d love to hear your thoughts on what products you’d recommend for me to achieve the look I’m looking for. I own a bunch of BB products but have yet to find the right combination to get those beautiful heatless beach waves. Thanks so much in advance and can’t wait to hear back from you!

      @ShannonfromBumbleandbumble Před 2 lety

      Thank you so much!! Have you tried the surf styling leave-in? This is a wave enhancing product and a frizz controller. I think it would be perfect for your blonde. It has the really cool elastic, nourishing hold without any crunchy-ness. One other thing I’d suggest- if you find this product not humidity- controlling enough- ask for a sample of the anti humidity gel oil. It is in the curl line, but it really helps with frizz from humidity. You can mix it with a hair oil or cream if you find it has too much hold. Hope this helps!

      Hi,@@ShannonfromBumbleandbumble thanks so much for your detailed response. After watching your video, I took an educated guess and got the don’t blow it thick and surf infusion. However, I just rewatched your video and your suggestion regarding the Surf leave in makes total sense as well. May I ask, how do they differ? I will definitely look into the gel oil for humidity per your suggestion. Thanks again, so much for your response and keep the great videos coming! Xo Oh, I forgot to ask how you recommend application of products? Could you mix the leave in with the anti-humidity gel oil? Also, how much would you suggest using of each? Also, do you apply from root to ends and rake/comb through so the product gets evenly dispersed? Any helpful tips and suggestions would be immensely appreciated!! You rock!

      @@jenniferkovacs7345 I love the combo of surf infusion + don't blow it thick! I definitely think that would be a great option for moisture, but I worry about needing more humidity control in FL- which the surf styling leave in or the Anti Humidity Gel Oil may help a bit more. Application process for Don't Blow it Thick + Surf Infusion- After cleansing/ conditioning, apply a good amount of don't blow it thick roots to ends. You can even comb or wet brush it though to ensure it's touching all hair strands. Then, you can either shake and spritz the surf infusion (start sparingly) throughout your hair, or spray in your hands, emulsify and use your hands to scrunch and twist to begin encouraging your wave. Don't forget to shake to combine the product in Surf Infusion : ) Application process for Surf Styling Leave In: After cleansing/ conditioning, apply a good amount of surf styling leave in roots to ends. You can even comb or wet brush it though to ensure it's touching all hair strands. Then start scrunching or twisting! You can even add some of the Surf Infusion if you'd like more nourishing texture : ) Application Process for Anti Humidity Gel Oil- Apply just like Surf Styling leave in, though being officially a "curl product" start sparingly. Maybe the size of a quarter? really emulsify in your hands and lightly coat your strands. Hope this helps!

    Hi Shannon! I have a question for you. Here's my current regimen: when I get out of the shower, I use the B&B Thickening Treatment and make sure it's through my entire hair. Then, I use the bumble and bumble surf styling leave in. The only thing is, I find it takes a super long time to dry, because I don't heat-dry, and it makes mornings more complicated. I am not opposed to heat-drying, but I know with the leave-in, you are not supposed to. Would it make sense to apply the thickening treatment, and then do a little heat-dry, and then put the leave-in? Thank you xox!

    • @ShannonfromBumbleandbumble
      @ShannonfromBumbleandbumble Před 2 lety

      Hi Mark! I love that routine! I'd definitely make sure that your hair is as dry as possible before adding in the styling products (consider using a water absorbing head wrap) For the Go Big Treatment Plumping Treatment, a little goes a long way. You could even spray the product in your hands and apply to your hair to use less product. If your hair is still having a hard time drying, You may have high porosity- do you lighten your hair at all? Using a primer can help fill in the porosity (see my primer video)- If this does not work and you prefer the air dried look- i'd suggest getting a diffuser attachment for your blowdryer. Put your dryer on medium heat/ low speed and gently scrunch in the diffuser claws to help dry your hair while keeping the air dried effect. The surf leave in looks amazing styled like this! Hope this helps!

    Has a silicone as ingredient

    • @ShannonfromBumbleandbumble
      @ShannonfromBumbleandbumble Před 2 lety

      Hi! There are different grades/types of silicones and the version we use is super common in hair & skincare. Dimethicone is a silicon-based polymer that, when used in beauty products, gives the formula an incredibly smooth, velvety, slippery feel & prevents moisture loss- super helpful for controlling frizz. Not a bad thing for hair that is super thirsty and prone to frizz. Just like regular facials keep your pores in tip-top shape, I do suggest using a clarifying shampoo or shampoo with sulfates every so often to keep your scalp and stands happy. I suggest this for people who use silicone and for people do not use silicones 🙂 If you prefer stylers without silicones many of our curl options are formulated without 🙂 Helpful article: www.cosmopolitan.com/style-beauty/beauty/a32891698/what-is-dimethicone-for-skin/

    Got turned on to your SumoGel about a month ago and I absolutely love it. It's so different from regular gels. Works and holds like a wax and still has the benefit of being water soluble. I'm interested to try some of the other Sumo products. Is it just the SumoGel which is water soluble? I love that I can just wash it out in the shower at the end of the day without my hair feeling all gunked up.

    • @ShannonfromBumbleandbumble

      Hi! The sumo gel is water-based, so it will rinse right out, however- don't think the others will be difficult to remove. They do feel more "paste-y" compared to the sumo gel, and, if you're an everyday user of the sumos (or any wax/ pomade), I always suggest using a clarifying shampoo every few weeks to ensure you keep your hair & scalp healthy & flake free. Sunday Shampoo from bumble is great to add into your routine every few weeks.

    • @ShannonfromBumbleandbumble
      @ShannonfromBumbleandbumble Před 3 lety

      I'm a person who advises at least two different shampoos/ conditioners in your shower. Creme de coco is going to drench with moisture, while bond building is going to penetrate into the cortex of the hair and repair the damage and moisturize. These would be a great pair! However, if I were to choose one over the other for the time being, i'd go with the Bond.
