The game isn't perfect but it's different and pretty fun as a arcade racer on Playstation (I did read some horror stories from PC of it crashing all the time which might be fixed now).

@@GOTMAXPOWER Thanks mate, the game just looks fun so ill definitely check it out, also thanks for the recommendation of the yt channel of the Dakar rally. Yeah Hołowczyc had a rough journey in Dakar, but the book was a good insights of the event, back in the days when chequered flag was in Dakar.

@@SpellracecarBackwards I don't think so, maybe if it's a really long penalty it could save a fraction but you're losing big either way. The only way that kind of works is to force the ABS to kick in more, so 2 wheels on the grass or go off the dry line if it's a wet race.

I'm not good at either of them tbh. I love the Dakar game as some different, especially the longer stages where you're doing the navigation instead of just trying to drive fast. Its a shame it didn't sell more, I doubt there will be a sequel anytime soon 😔

I use this whenever a tuning race comes up: Anti-Roll: 5/8 Compression: 22/35 Expansion: 40/45 Natural Frequency: 3.00/3.25 That is from Wind's Discord server and I leave the diff standard because it's easier to drive than the eSport setups that are a bit too edgy.

@@madheadcrew1 Its probably not the fastest but feels the best to me too, the long gears really help with the traction coming out of the slow corners, it gives you so much more confidence than something like the M6.

They were all on purpose 😂 It seems to have a 50/50 rate between kind of working and spinning you into oblivion (I tried many many times but these were the best 2!). Its hard to judge because you need to line it up so only 2 wheels are on the grass then hold the brakes long enough for the rotation but release them at the right time otherwise it will keep spinning. The second one in this video I did because P7 on the grid told me to, peer pressure is a bitch! 😅

@@madheadcrew1 Yeah it's the RSR, probably not the fastest Gr3 car on every circuit but it's really nice to drive so people like me who aren't as good can push it a lot harder than whatever the meta is.

@@GOTMAXPOWER ah I see - I recently got into Forza (with Sim setup - learning it) so really unsure of what the best car in Gr3 is. I bought the Supra and also the McLaren 650 S but I’m just experimenting right now I have benign crests to get two other car if needs be - thought about the Porsche cause I know handling and acceleration are generally top tier on them. You use controller or steering wheel?

@@madheadcrew1 I haven't played Forza since 4 on the X360, great game. If it's anything like GT7 the Gr3/GT3 cars will have BOP so their performance is pretty close to each other. I suppose just drive what you enjoy the most unless you need every last tenth.

@@madheadcrew1 Haha I was going to ask if it was any good, Forzas always have good car lists so I might buy it eventually. The Porsche is probably the best for coming out of the slow corners, it has longer gears than the others cars and no turbo so the power comes in more gradually if you floor it compared to a more sensitive car like the M6.

I'm not sure what they were playing at, everybody had penalties so they could've still won if they kept it clean until the slow zone 🤪 Thanks for the races that week, that was a fun car/track combo, hopefully there isn't too long of a wait before they do something similar.

Thanks for the races, it was good to see a few Porsche's running at the front, if it had been dominated by Ford GT's like last time (driving the other way round) I don't think this race would've been half as good 🍻

I'm not bad on the tracks where you can piggyback on somebody goods slipstream for the entire race 🤗😂

Momoz has never been the dirtiest player but he is a bit sensitive, if you rough him up a bit he'll knock your head off. Essentially he drives like half of top split in America! 😅

This track suits the 911 really well when you find the rhythm through that middle section but it's hard to find that, it's kind of like Bathurst in that way. My laptimes were all over the place, I could be half a second faster one lap than the next and have no idea where the difference came from.

I got the impression it was intentional when he didn't touch the brakes at all into the hairpin 😂 I knew it was coming when I saw the name on the grid, there's not much you can do about it though.

@@GOTMAXPOWER nope didn’t notice it on my end, but I think I’ve been having the same problem as you this last week or so where the cars are jumping about the place, been putting me off racing recently, being too cautious to go side by side just in case I get lag bumped round a corner. been definitely better this week tho, very odd for me to be up there with some of the top guys. @@Heat0n__93 It might be the servers playing up then, it's happened before which is a bit shit 🙄 We're due a update in a couple of weeks so fingers crossed that helps. I haven't had any crashes caused by the lag but visually it's so off-putting, you can't have confidence to race against a car when you don't know where it is. Yeah I think we both punched above our weight at times this week. GG! I love this track for dailies, always gives good races.

It would be nice if people could use liveries 💩 PD broke sport mode on the last update so you can cheat and modify your cars so they've restricted it to rentals only for now. Just watch it be a really dull race when it's working again.

That was a really fun race, I thought I had cut the chicane by miles until I watched it back, the outside wheels were barely over the edge of the curb which somehow makes it more painful 😂😭

It was good fun racing against you most of the week again, it was a really fun race if you were up against the right people and annoying when you weren't. On the first day quite a few of the top players saw it as a “meme race” so were treating it like a demo derby, fine every now and then for a bit of fun if everybody is up for it but every race gets tiresome quickly. I'm not sure if you heard that Mikail Hizal has a role with PD now so handed out official warnings to a few in top split, TX3_Dede got a 30 day ban for it which is overly harsh but the ban threat did tidy up half of the deliberate stuff in top split. The bump drafting is hit and miss, I don't like it when you push the car ahead at the same time as you get a push from behind because it pushes the car in the middle out of line, it was the same at SSRX a few weeks ago, I try to brake before pushing if the speed difference is too big because otherwise you destroy both cars. Some people didn't understand slipstream at all, you would be pushing them and they wouldn't follow the cars a second ahead so you're giving up a load of speed, overall though I think these races would race better if bump drafting wasn't a thing because you get trapped in a train with too much momentum for anybody to pull out of line and gain places. There are a few corner markers on the left before Mulsanne corner, I was using the first one after you go under the gantry as my brake marker, in clean air I was braking pretty much on it, with a slipstream just before because of the extra entry speed. I did change the ABS setting from default to weak half way through the week and that seemed to help the stopping distance. I get that it's a tough braking zone but some people had been racing it all week and still missing it by miles every race, I ran out of patience with one guy last night and full throttled him into the gravel because I had been on the receiving end of too many of his accidents 🙈. That advice from for your ex 😂

@@GOTMAXPOWER I always thought SR was switched off for race A because crashes would be inevitable but not intentional. I know with SSRX it was possible to be naughty and lead the cars following into a wall or squeeze the car on the outside so they made a mistake, even if I was the one being squeezed or behind getting collected it was still fun. When people started brake checking up the hill because they knew it would kill the cars behind and just pushing others into the barrier it lost it’s fun. I still had some good races in the B/S lobbies, 2 or 3 chains of cars going into the last corner side by side and 10-11 finishing within a second and a few races where I won or lost by 0.001. I found bump drafting is so much more complicated than just tapping the car in front. A two car chain could break the bumper, a three car chain could kill car 2 and 3 if driver 3 didn’t know and got too close, if it was four or more it was normally when not if it would go wrong. It took me a few days to work it out, I’m guessing it’s something PD are trying to work out as well, it has been slightly different every time, the second SSRX the cars felt like they had triangle bumpers. I think the slipstream races have more strategy than most race C, they are almost impossible to win on your own and you cannot decide what to do for T2/lap 2 until you get there. Even a 6-8 second lead at the beginning of the Mulsanne straight wasn’t enough for me to beat you.

@@SpacedCosmo I'm not sure, it seems like SR is turned off all the time for these chaos races but on for others which seem like there would be loads of contact (like the Chaparral race at Monza). You could argue there is no such thing as a inevitable crash if people are being sensible enough. There is a big difference between accidents and trolling like the people you mention brake testing at SSRX, that's something that needs a report button rather than just hoping the SR takes care of it imo but good luck finding decent moderators who would do it for free. Bump drafting isn't really compatible with the collision physics on Gran Turismo, in real racing you would lock onto the bumper ahead, in the game the cars bounce off each other (I think because they're totally solid so can't absorb any of the impact) so instead of proper pushing you're pushing them ahead with little collisions. That's why it gets so awkward when you're giving and receiving a push at the same time, the physics freak out a bit and push you over to the side. Slipstream races are just as skilled as any other race (aside from the train races) only it's a different kind of skill/tactics, some people respect that others don't. The slipstream last week might've been a bit too strong but it did make some fun moments.
