Imma Harley guy with a KLR650 too. Got a 22 Ultra in Gunship Grey I am allowed to ride with my club and the KLR is not. I do occasionally ride it to church and the other guys all seem to like it ok. I asked one what his first bike was and it was indeed a Kawasaki 454LTD. Mine was a Kawasaki KD100M. Turns out most of the true Harley guys didn't start out on one because they were kids who could barely afford a jap bike. I also pointed out how the KLR served the Marines with 215 made for them, which make that model rare, and made in USA.

U could've moved the clutch lever an inch inward. Then it would've cleared and you wouldn't have to grind the clutch lever

I’ll be running my 23 Adventure (no mods) at the Sturgis drag races this year. I’ll do one run with normal, unhurried acceleration, and one run pushing it a bit (but no redline), just to see what it does. My buddies will run their T7s and Trumpets.

Just a little info on the carb screws, the are not philips, they are JIS, people strip them out because phillips screwdriver does not fit JIS properly.

How is noise on your mic with electrical tape off? And issues with bugs flying in? Maybe install foam in the vents so air comes in but not debris?

I had a 1987 klr 650 and loved it. I also had a one man boat like yours only 8 ft long. I'm to old to ride now, but am going to get another 1 man boat. Have a great day !

I just did similar mods to my 2001. It is as you said, it just makes them run right.

We would still have the weak 'feeedom' we have even without the military. I served. But I hate it when peoples say the military is why we're free to do things.....the new asshole in the White House is proving that freedom can be yanked at anytime, no matter whose died in the past

Sounds like they have a N-S trail, like Vermont's Puppy Dog Trail or New Hampshire Hampster trail ( just completed making a track from Mass to the Hampster v.8 at Warner, NH). My track is more dual-sport, but I got a DLx1000al8 through it okay. NH has a dirtroads, New England dirt road rides info.docx

Get Komoot, its one of the best ive used. Covers all the dirt roads you know and probably dont know about. You can also just do dirt roads or just street. It think it was 29bucks for the entire US one time fee.
