After endless research and reading reviews and specs I finally decided on which scan tool to get. Otofix D1 Pro backed with autel software was my choice, I take you through some of the menus and capabilities of the D1 pro in the video, hope this helps .

Steps on how to replace your intake manifold on a Ford 4.6l, my truck is a 2007 Ford F-150, I had a coolant loss issue followed by mis-fires and no heat, A new intake Manifold and new coolant took care of all these problems.

Yeah we call those death lights. You don't ever want to be part of the circuit.
The battery in it is non serviceable. When the battery runs dead, you either purchase a new circuit board or a new test light
@@mmcss640 Dang... Well surely the battery has a somewhat long life if its only on say 4 or 5 seconds at a time looking for voltage but thanks for the info
@@automotiveam Mine lasted for maybe a year. I couldn't get a replacement circuit board and the cost of a new one didn't warrant a re-purchase. I'll stick with the tried and true corded test lights.

How are you liking this model? I’m debating on purchasing this one or a similar autel
I'm loving it so far, my buddy has the autel MS906 he paid over $1000 bucks for and the D1 pro has all the same capabilities maybe more plus a bigger battery, bigger screen and it's wireless which is extremely helpful diagnosing certain issues.
You saved my fucking ass bro! I updated the bios with the previous cpu, all was ok but the new cpu wasn’t showing image, so taking out one ram stick it solve the image problem and can finish set up. Just as an addition, if you have secure boot enabled and it shows a message about the key being lost for chaning the cpu just press Y and update time and date, save changes and you’re done, first boot and then turn off and place the second ram slot back in.

No. Just no.
A bit of clarity, one lead to each pin of 2 pin sensor. Multimeter set to Volts AC. Pass magnetic metal object past end of sensor, watch for voltage signal as object passes end of sensor.

I took the cmos battery out, got the computer to beep on post. Black screen though. Rebooted it, and boom got it working again
did you put the cmos battery again after booting it without the battery?

How do I do a bios update I can’t use my keyboard or anything and it doesn’t even turn off at all with the power button do I still do what you did ?
You update it through the bios UI, just search your motherboard make and model update bios on CZcams

I'm in a pickle. Installed the intake manifold and right before torquing the bolts my heat lamp bulb exploded into hundreds of pieces. I'm concerned some glass got in the combustion chamber through the fuel injector holes. I'm guessing a piece of glass in top of a piston would be catastrophic. Any tips? I'm not pulling the head, that's way beyond my skill level
Oh no that is a pickle, you don't have a borescope you could send down into the combustion chamber to check it out do you? I'm not sure what happens to glass under compression but you could roll the dice and full send 😅
@@automotiveam although it would probably be fine blowing air and Vaccum the head out I'm going to buy a borescope just to be certain. I can't afford a new engine or car payment lol
Definitely worth it to get one, Amazon has cheap ones that plug in to your phone for like $20 bucks, definitely cheaper than a motor
