A view inside a 48V battery pack, showing the layout of the battery connections. This is a 13S4P battery wired in a type of ladder style. It is quite complicated to get 52 batteries inside the metal case. Sorry I said 4 batteries in series when I meant in parallel. If you connect 13 X 3.7V batteries in series you get 48.1V across them. I changed my Samebike LO26 350W hub motor bike to a 750W Bafang BBS02 mid drive motor. This was done so I have more torque for climbing really steep hills. After fitting, I reprogrammed the controller inside the motor to give a smoother ride and use less power. Just did a 32 mile ride and had 47% battery left. I'm still using the original Samebike 10Ah internal battery. This bike is now exactly...

      @@TrippleZ3D Not an expert here, but sounds to me that the voltage levels have dropped below the minimum for the BMS, so it will no longer charge/Discharge To be honest, i solved my problem by removing the old battery in the frame, and just behind the Discharge panel is where the controller sits after removing the 3 screws, connected a XT 60, put a rack on the back and bought a 20ah battery that fits into Bag that straps to the rear rack, and wired it through to the controller, my bike now does twice the millage now and i have no issues whatsoever.....The samebike LO26 M-Nine Stock batterries are terrible in my opinion with generic cells inside. which is why i modified my bike after mine started to go bad after just over 100 miles only.

    Hi! I have the samebike lo26, I had it parked with the battery inside for a few months without turning it on, I know, bad idea. I put the battery to charge and it seems like it did but when I try to turn on the bike the screen just wont turn on, the pedals or throttle don’t turn it on so its not like the lcd screen is not showing, it just doesnt work. Any suggestions? My sister gave me her samebike sm26 but the wheels are 3 spoke and completly bent so I thought of using the refular spoke wheel from my lo26 into the sm26, but the case where the motor goes seems quite larger in the lo26 (500w in the lo26 vs 230w in the sm26). I would really appreciate your suggestions

  • @wsx2000
    @wsx2000 Před 2 lety

    Helpful videos, thanks. This motor relies on heat transfer to the wheel for cooling. I wonder if you put too much grease in there which may have contributed to your subsequent motor burn out. The grease can act as an insulator, increasing heat build up. The hub gets hot on big hills but I've managed 3000k without a burnout. Recently I did a free hack of the motor controller, shunting the amp sensor wire. czcams.com/video/HmqcrQeXuN4/video.html It's pulling about 1000 watts now (way more than what the motor (350watt) is designed to handle )and just roars up hills. I only use increased power carefully and so far, no burnout. We'll see how long it lasts.

    • @RandomClips27.
      @RandomClips27. Před rokem

      Shunt mod will weaken your battery quicker as the mod is asking for more amps from the battery. I done it on mine got way less miles plus motor and controller were hotter but was alot of fun now I just got a bigger controller get the same fun but alot safer

    • @wsx2000
      @wsx2000 Před rokem

      @@RandomClips27. Yeah, you have to be mindful of the extra stress you're putting on the entire system including the battery. In very hot weather this is particularly important. As of this writing the only failure I've had was a motor wire connector just down line of the motor controller. The connector couldn't handle the extra amperage. Soldering that power wire connection solved that problem. Otherwise the battery, controller and motor are still doing fine. I suspect the battery is the weak point on the set up so I use full throttle (about 1200 watt draw) sparingly. The motor and the controller get quite hot. I think my controller has not burnt out yet because I have the MOSFET side of the case jammed against the aluminum frame of the bike with thermal conducting grease allowing additional heat sinking.

    Did it work?? Also I don't suppose you worked out the gear ratio of the motor while you had it apart? I managed to count the magnets at 20, by watching your video, but the gear ratio is a little harder. I just upgraded my LO26 controller for a torque simulated version which IMO is much better, but need the gear ratio to set the controller up properly..

    hey, i have a question, how did you manage to burn the motor? i've been seing a lot of people burning the 350w motor on the LO26, but not many burning the 500w motor. did you force it uphill or overheated it or did it just die on its own without you stressing it too much. i have the 500w motor and i didn't have any issues with it overheating, even using it on cruise mode

I was told by my local bike shop that this is a common problem as the cogs need to be replaced every so often. This is indicated by an 07 or 09 error code. You will also hear clicking from the motor. I regret ever buying this piece of Chinese garbage.
