It's so heartbreaking looking at pictures of Rosemary before and after lobotomy. Before, she looked so happy and spunky. After, she looked lost and miserable. Joe should be ashamed of himself. He didn't have the lobotomy done out of love. He had it done to silence her. How anyone could do that to ANY child; much less their OWN child, is beyond my comprehension. 😐 From what I've heard/read, he lied to Rose and told her that the lobotomy would make Rosemary better, more calmed down. Apparently Rose asked their youngest daughter Kathleen to research the procedure. After doing so, Kathleen insisted that Rosemary not have a lobotomy. Joe should've listened to her. Also, her siblings were lied to for years about her condition and whereabouts. They only found out the truth after Joe died. Apparently after that all of the siblings would periodically visit Rosemary but Eunice and Ted were especially kind to her.

I always thought Joe's book, A Man of Honor was written by him to get revenge on the Commission. He made sure to never tie himself to any crimes, but made enough insinuations about the other families, to give the Feds enough info to warrent investigations.
