NEW TEMPORARY ALLOCATION | Route U5's Vision Zero Electroliners Explained (Transport UK London Bus)
New Vision Zero Electroliner EVs have entered service on route U5. These have temporarily replaced Enviro 400 EVs. This is the second time Electroliners have been introduced to the U5.
Route U5 runs from Hayes & Harlington, To Uxbridge Station. Via Hayes & Harlington Station, Stockley Park, Stockley Estate, West Drayton, Hillingdon Hospital, and Cowley.
Route U5 runs every 12 to 20 minutes, From 05:15 until 00:46. The route is 7 miles (11 km) long, And has a peak vehicle requirement of 12. A full journey on route U5 takes around 31 to 55 minutes. Route U5 commenced operation on the 25th of January 2004. Routes around West Drayton are not serving the station due to a collapsed carriageway.
Brand new Enviro 400 EVs were introduced to route U5 in October 2022. Electroliner EVs were introduced in January 2023.

      the E400EVs first came between April-June 2022 for the U5 as I remember the YX15 MMCs came to QB after that for the 344/345

    Comparing to what happened on Monday the 5th of August for 389 and 399, for Metroline, it’s almost like that for 549, except 549 will soon be withdrawn by September and not changing operations. LX11AXS will have to go to different routes by then. However, still glad it returned to Stagecoach London.

    Thank you very much for doing my local route! These were transferred from the Walworth Garage and the Enviro 400 EV's that were previously used on U5 are now running on the 63.

      The Electroliners on the U5 are actually a mix of batches from the 133 and 381. The 133 is utilising more MMCs as a result with the 196 getting more E400Hs and the 381 utilising the U5’s E400EVs. The allocations will become normal soon so im not sure why the U5/381 have swapped but it isn’t permanent as there isn’t enough E400EVs for the 381 regardless
