Gecado, pronounced like Gekko.never heard of a Gecado made by Diana, understood it was a completely different company.

Recently i bought DIANA 35 made in 1967 yes the rifle is not very powerful, but my rifle is like brand new I think it’s not been shoot at all inside the barrel is like brand new, even though it’s not powerful and the trigger is too soft, I will keep it it’s just very nice and very well made, nothing is plastic, 👋👍

Good info, but a quick answer is to use 7oz bottles not 9 or 12. You can still find 3.5oz and 4oz and 7oz bottles.

I had a Gecado 27 back in the late 60's and it was an excellent rifle, first class accuracy and heaps of power. Some of my friends used Diana air rifles and the Gecado had it all over them.

the hw 80 was the first magnum springer , and the latest versions are 30 joules . but there are now 11 years later more powerfull springers , the hw 90 , and 350 magnum diana also the nec and hatasans 155 and 135 , but better then the quality of the weihrauch not one ,airarms maybe ,but not real magnum power.

I really hated my Relum Tornado. big bulky heavy the under lever was held up with string and the number of times it miss fired because the tap was not straight was un believable. Horrible gun.

It would be neat if Crosman would make a commemorative version of this with real wood stock, but of course it would weigh more and cost more, but hey, it would be cool. The included scope is more of a toy, but it does work for backyard plinking. I prefer to use pellets for greater accuracy, but BBs are just as good for plinking. This is not a Red Ryder folks; fully pumped it is 3 times the power of a Red Ryder and can be dangerous if not handled properly. Be safe out there.

Energy is measured in foot LBS SIR, and not in lbs feet Energy is defined as the capacity to do work where is lbs feet IS DEFINED AS TORQUE, that is a turning force A good example, would be the propeller shaft on a ship.

I am fortunate to own 2 Gecado 27's, one is unmolested, the other has been de-varnished by me. When I got the first one I did not know how very sweet a rifle it was. I recently bought a new Weirauch HW30s, the best low powered springer in the world. The HW30s is a stunning pellet gun, the Mod 27 comes pretty close. So in it's day it was probable the best springer out there. There may have been more powerfull rifles in SA like the Mod 35 and the Mod 50, and maybe the BSA airsporter, but for accuracy and usability, I doubt there was anything better until the 1980's

I have one of these, cant find them anywhere, let alone parts for them. Mines a .22. Not sure if they made .177 cal or others

The velocity is about right for these Mod D. You were lucky the obstruction was brass, if it was steel you would have really destroyed the rifling.

The Nikko sterling is not the best choice for a magnum springer. I killed two brand new Nikko's, the first on my HW80 and the other on a HW95. Both within the tin with pellets was empty. You will find out when there are no clicks left to adjust.

Nice rifles. My most powerful break barrel is a .25cal hatsan 125 and does 28fpe-32fpe depending on the pellet I shoot. I have .177cal that will do over 20fpe too.
