I use it primarily as a song sketchpad, and I think it's good for recording demos-I imagine especially if you're traveling (but I don't much of that, so I can only imagine...)

Thank you! The only granular app I've used myself is Tardigrain, but that doesn't do realtime. I've seen Fluss and Silo get recommended, and I'm pretty sure both of them do realtime; I can't vouch for them personally, but they might be worth checking out!

As far as hardware granular synths go, the Texture Lab is the cheapest one I'm aware of, but there are many low cost or free granular snyth apps and plug-ins available, like tardigrain (the only I've used). As far as the Ambient 0 goes, I think you can create similar sounds with any basic synth and effects pedal pairing. I'm planning on making a video about this soon, so stay tuned.

Thank you! And yeah, sorry, you’re right. I’ve done chapters/timestamps for some of my other long videos, but I’ve been inconsistent about it.

Hm... I mean, it only takes a few button presses to do, and it's fairly straightforward, and it gives you the essential options, like being able to set a threshold for automatically starting recording... but it's not quite as painless as sampling on, say, an OP-1, and you can't do it on the fly in the middle of a song the way you can with an OP-1. You have to do it in advance.

@@RobG1729 eh, I'm not sure music has gotten any cooler since the late 60s and early to mid 70s. If anything, the opposite. Those were peak years in my book, especially in rock.

My son went with his parents to see Gotan Project one night and Talvin Singh the next night. That's what prompted his remark. However, I agree there was more cool music decades ago.

I don't know if I can claim to be an expert now, because I hadn't noticed that before! But yeah, the same thing happens to me if I hold two of the same note in different octaves. However, if I hold three or four of the same notes, all but one of them will be released. I can't figure out which one continues to get held; sometimes it seems to be the one last entered; other times, the one with the lowest octave. Weird... Anyway, good catch!
