PT. 1: DAN CURTIS TALKS RICHARD MATHESON AND "THE NIGHT STALKER"
(ABC - MGM / 15 mins)
Prod. & Dir. by - Gregg Carson
Dan Curtis, one of the most prolific TV genre producers of all time (DARK SHADOWS, THE NORLISS TAPES, TRILOGY OF TERROR), and literature's "king of the unusual" - writer Richard Matheson (I AM LEGEND, THE INCREDIBLE SHRINKING MAN, WHAT DREAMS MAY COME, SOMEWHERE IN TIME) first teamed to great success on the 1972 hit TV movie THE NIGHT STALKER, about a modern day yet old school Las Vegas reporter (Darren McGavin) who stumbles upon a serial killer who happens to be the present day incarnation of an ancient vampire. The film would inspire a sequel TV movie (THE NIGHT STRANGLER), a weekly series, a 21st century TV redo, and even Chris Carter's THE X-FILES.
In a rare sit-down interview, Curtis talks of the genesis of the long beloved NIGHT STALKER phenomenon.

This isn’t one of his better bits. I’ve been watching him for years
I love how comedy but I can't stand the guys who quote his bits to justify their bulls it racism and/or sexism. You've missed the point.
That was awesome... Thanks...
I remember our “unconscious bias” training at Home Depot and in every scenario the “villain” was a straight white dude. The irony wasn’t lost on me but was apparently lost in the creators.
😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊
I didn’t even know he was a comedian . Always saw his acting roles
I really appreciate his last comment on the teacher coming home upset. But truth be told, it isn't the students that send teachers home crying... its the parents.
R.I.P. Roger Corman. Dead at 98
Roger Corman will be missed
Wow, Bill Burr, you a funny mudda f*cka.
honest to god watch videos with Harlan in it for his voice 💀 his way of speaking is so charismatic and weirdly calming
R.I.P Roger Corman the greatest b movie 🎥 maker of all time! 😢
*'Save The Last Dance'* THAT'S THE MOVIE! 😂
I know this is funny.but the truth is in every aspect racism is real
Makes you wonder about all the images they showed in history to the masses to get reaction of fear and division. Lights, camera...action!
Can someone send me the link of part 1?
THESE ARE 300 DOLLAT PRESCRIPTIONS
😂😂😂 totally agree with you Bill
The nice thing about this video is how Gene Hackman seemed genuinely happy and relaxed when he was with Dustin Hoffman, both on the set and off it. You can see the comfort he felt in working/being interviewed with an old friend vs. being on his own. I've read a lot of interviews with him where he talked about being intrinsically shy (which a lot of actors are) and even the director here said he was a quiet kind of guy, so that tracks.
Its funny that I'm watching this just after American Society of Magical Negroes flopped. All this time later and they've gotta literally invent fantasy white-guilt 😅
At least spell his name correctly for Pete's sake...
So sick of the scene in every movie with a black person it it where the evil white boss / cop / politician / Etc. oppresses the poor black man. This is a stereotype. And it is every bit as bad as the stereotype of the black man as a watermelon eating criminal. But it’s OK because it’s just white people.
In “ the Dambusters “ movie, they changed the dogs name to “ Trigger”, to satisfy the woke nonsense of the day. The real dogs name was “ Nig**r” Blazing saddles doesn’t give a toss about the woke clowns. Thankfully.
Evil people come in all colors. It's always been that way.
This is a sad comedy skit to me, as a person of color. For me it’s a dismissal of my personal trauma related to racism I experienced. Laugh at that.
It's because you let it. My brother is almost completely blind, do you have any idea what he went through growing up? Playing Pop Warner baseball and people on the bleachers saying "Why is he playing? He's BLIND". He became a lawyer and is Chief Prosecutor in Hawaii. You choose to be victimized.
@@stacyann825 WOW! what an insensitive reply. Unfortunately there is a difference between being black and being blind. But, first congratulations to your brother for his achievements despite his disability. However your analogy/attempt to compare a disability to racism is like comparing apples to oranges. Not even close to being similar. Also, your analogy/reply shows a lack of understanding about racism, how it affects people of color and the trauma it causes. Would you say to a woman who has been raped “because you let it”?
Because he's not making fun of your trauma. He's making fun of the very concept of modern racism and the disconnect between what hollywood thinks it is and what it actually is. He's not laughing at your experiences. You yourself convinced yourself if that
@@chubbjack158 You're absolutely correct, I don't understand "racism" because that word has lost all meaning. That tends to happen when a word is thrown around incessantly, especially when its main usage is a blanket response from someone who has run out of things to say due to a lack of intelligence.
@@stacyann825 I agree that the word racism has lost its meaning. But the conditions of racism still exist in these days. Just because the word racism has been abused and misused over the past decades doesn’t erase systemic racism perpetrated by federal, state and local governments along with banking and private businesses on a certain group of people. It’s comedy skits like this one that marginalized and devalues what certain people are and have experienced.
Voice of many people, I bet he would be accepted in the Balkans and i can say that for just few comedians from USA
Bill Burr is the perfect mix of woke and anti-woke.
❤
HE'S PRETTY GOOD AS CHRIS WALKEN! I'M IMPRESSED! ❤
I actually know an uninhibited loudmouth racist. He was a high school wrestler,he spent the entire time before the match entertaining the (white) referees with his theories. The referee let his opponent carry him around the mat above his head by his $crotum. We brought him to the section tournament in the place of our guy.
Rest in peace richard donner ,joel Schumacher and Corey haim
You have no idea how brilliant this is. There's a new movie out about kids trying to golf little black kids trying to golf and it is right down the middle
Fabulous, really fabulous 😅
I had to come back and watch this, just seen a movie preview for hispanics playing golf, the guy is all "no on wants to see hispancs on a gold course" I about died and thought of you Bill.

"it's a 300 dollar prescription"
Classics, is cracker, white bread , riice
This guy is amazing
One of my favorite movies of all times. A true classic.
Been a huge fan of his pretty much my whole life. Thought I would see his movie star looks again, then I saw Micheal Dorn from Star Trek. They could be brothers, except for the obvious difference. Just something I noticed. What do you all think?
I'm such a fan of Pollock as an actor, I didnt know he did impressions - which having watched a few videos of him doing really lackluster impressions makes a lot of sense.
Blazing Saddles was the best comedy movie ever made.
love it
Somewhat interesting video. Notable is that we see D. Hoffman not behaving like a jerk. I guess being around Gino brings him back to humanity. D.H.'s greatest role is still _Midnight Cowboy_ - again, for the humanity.
I really hate Pale's English
Gale Anne Hurd did not steal my MAGMA TOWN script in 1995., - with evidence I have a reasonable doubt : - that "writer" Leslie Bohem did it brazenly and recklessly (I can only imagine how many other screenwriters he stole), but Gale Anne Hurd and her company at the time, PACIFIC WESTERN made about $25 million through the production of the movie DANTE S PEAK over my back and I got nothing.Even contacted me twice with an email from David Nochimson (Gale Anne Hurd s attorney from L.A.), who tried to "brainwash" me with a "statement" that Gale Anne Hurd didn't earn anything from that film, where I denied it with evidence, then he shut up realizing that his "hell" plan had failed and that I "read" it, - they both clearly underestimated me, - DISASTER AND GREAT SHAME FOR ALL OF THE ABOVE, - I AM HORRIFIED !

I know of no other comedian that is hilarious with his anger issues in a way that is simply ON POINT. We F'KN LOVE YA BILL, glad you are reaping TONS of rewards after 20 years of hard labor my brutha. Kinda like us that did time, reflection and consideration. You are f'kn killin it with the consideration, and even that movie line stumpy lil cuuuuuuuuuuuuuunnnttt. I never laughed so f'kn hard inmy life cause she WAS a stumpy lil what you said. Highlighting the one f'kn rule that maybe didn't get saved in the auto save file.
Couldn't make this video today. RIP comedy.
