You might try some grease on your drive shaft alot of it and try working on a work bench and a vice
@@darrenmccomic7325 i put grease on when i use it. And useing the vice would make to much sence lol
I think you are susposed to start at the break?
Very good job have a great day
@@tonyphillips1917 thank you
One of the best video,s I've seen so far on these 450's, well done, what a great feeling fixing them, and they work so well when there done...great job, thanks much,I have the seal leaking on the clutch side and now I know why...Good stuff...
@@happycamper2877 thanks for watching and enjoying it.
Good call on spraying off the motor first. I've recently started doing this on any maintenance activity that I do on my bikes. It just makes everything easier when you don't have dirt falling into your work area, contaminating grease, oil, fittings, bearings etc...
There is a product called "SPRAY CLEAN" In an ugly purple spray bottle, you can get it at wall mart that I use on my 450 and tractors and you just spray it on everything and pressure wash it and you will be shocked at how well it works as a degreaser and cleaner, looks like new, try it you won't be sorry...Thanks for the great video...Sure would be nice to know the part number of that delco alternator...
@@happycamper2877 thanks. Ill give it a shot. Ill see if i can come up with the part number
@@hoopiemade Thank you,it appears to be a 77' to 79' chev 1/2 ton pickup...
Use your tractors loader/forklift and chain to lift the mower onto its side. Much easier to takeoff blades and stump jumper. Easier to remove blades before stump jumper.
I have the same tractor ,and have issues in high power full throttle, the tractor bogs down and almost dies, but in low gear no issues?? Any suggestions?
@@joelgivens1514 im asuming your meaning this happens while mowing? Maby just going faster then the machine can handle. This mower has 2 high ranges and 1 low. I mow in 2nd gear in the 1st high range. And sometimes it bogs down in heavy grass.
@@hoopiemade Not mowing just driving the tractor, it seems like it's not getting any fuel or a blockage. Is there a primary and secondary fuel filter or just the glass bowl one.
@@joelgivens1514 just the glass bowl that i know of. I would check the line from the tank make sure there isent something in it. Maby blow air in it. Could be something in your tank blocking it. I had that problem on the dozer.
welding on gas tanks and burning oil filters lol love it

Best use of gift wrap I’ve ever seen 👍😂
Great video, thank you for making it. I laughed out loud when you couldn’t get the steering housing off after removing the oil filter. I feel ya brother. I just had the steering cylinder rebuilt, and it was harder to get off than I expected.
Thanks lol

Good video, enjoyed it thanks,I have a 450c and it has the side shift and no turbo, not making a lot of sense but it is what it is, mines a 73' in like new shape and it works awesome, love it...good to know about the non riveted junk bands thanks...
Hoopie, that was a really good video. Tons of information that all of us have had or will have in the future. I am having similar issues with my 97 16valve, and my 92 2dr takes forever to shift to 3rd... Enjoyed your video, actually re-winded a couple of times. lol As per your tranny question at the end, I am a automatic guy, older and need to hold a cup of coffee or a camera with the other hand. With that said, I would never buy a 5 speed tracker as it has usually been beaten to death by the young guy tacking the engine out in search of just one more horse power. Really good vid Hoopie, thank you
Thanks for the feedback
Wait. Anyone else confused? Why did the air come up in the spring? Shouldn’t it come out downstream?
Is that were u puts the deads bodys
I doubt you will get 125 psi on a continuous basis from that compressor. You can pump it up to 125 but as soon as you start drawing air from it the output pressure will drop quite a bit. Most likely to less than 60. This compressor cannot sustain a continuous draw of 125 psi air as you are implying. You may wish to try this: pump up to 125 psi. Put on a blowgun. Press and hold the blow gun on for about 20 seconds then check the output pressure. You will see the pressure drop a lot.
Will it manually shift?
No
The roots from all the vegetation has made their way through the pipe & blocking the waters flow
Just bought a 450BC and your videos are so helpful. Thanks Hoopie!
You cannot grind a right helix into a left helix, FFS people, are you stupid? Some greasy fingers and BS can make people dumb, I swear.
So why did you let it get so bad..
By the look of the color of the water you need to clean it out got a lot of settlement in the bottom of it
Yes! I used to blow out my parents irrigation pipes with an air compressor. It works really well and blows out all the built up crud from well water.
I HAVE TO KNOW!!!
Junk Cadet
Mee too! Where's the pipe go?
That’s so nice.
I think you blew that frog clean out of there😮
🤣🤣🤣
More work, less commentary = better video.
You're so lucky to have a fresh Spring in your yard.

Have you done a video on changing the final drive oil in your 450 B dozer
No i havent. Mine is self changeing. It leaks so i just top it off and go lol
Can you do a video showing where you put in and what you put in.

I found the brake bands at a company in Buffalo New York allegedly there made by the Amish in Ohio. It was more than triple the price of the eBay ones the name of the company is.Conequip construction equipment parts
I would just make sure they are not geting them from broken tractor. They have a store in ohio near amish country.
I specifically asked that and again allegedly they’re made in Ohio. We shall see.
I have a 450 B as well and I just called John Deere dealer and they say they can’t get the bottom band anymore. They can get the top band so other than that Chinese crap do you know a place that sells the bands top and bottom?
I recomend sending them out having your factory ones relined. But If i had to buy aftermarket ones i would get these ones. www.steeringclutch.com/AT129806_AT129807_JOHN_DEERE_JD450_JD450B_BRAKE_BANDS.htm
Money quite that big it gets a little 350 crawler but it works
Smart.
Just scoop out that dirty water and it will replace it with clean water..
Not if the pipe is plugged
Pawpaw started with a larger pipe up hill at the spring source and put a screen over it. Sure you had to clean it up at times and put a new screen ever so often, but the pipe stayed clear. We eventually replaced his old cast iron pipe with PVC, but it still gives fresh water after 60-70 years of use.
Every so often i have to shovel the mud out of the spring head. Last time i did it the pipe was under mud so i think that was my problem.
Yessir 💪
Hondas are great motors never need much to get going again
Preach. I just got a 1980 Honda XR500 that sat for 16 years, and with nothing more than a carb clean and a shot of starting fluid, she kicked right over, running on 16 year old gasoline.
spark, fuel ,compression that’s all she needs
Did it wok?
