We Bought A Van! Campervan Conversion - Peugeot Boxer Van Build UK
The paints you used are simply not durable enough for vehicle use. Within one or two years you will have issues.
Thanks for watching - it was military grade paint…. We will keep the channel updated 👍
Sweating 😂. You will be if you heat the van like you do your home after September 😂😂. Can you sack work off and crack on with this please because I’m getting impatient to see the newest member of the family!
Hahaha!!! We wish! Sadly the campervan won’t pay our bills 😂
Great work, van is coming together!
Thank you 🙏
Great progress. I bet it took a surprising amount of time but getting the insulation right will pay dividends in the future.
Thanks Ched! It did! Poking it in all those holes took SO long 🙈 But we won’t be complaining when it’s toasty warm inside 🤞
Fantastic videos , great tutorial. This will save a lot of people issues when they build themselves. So glad I subscribed 😊
Thank you for following along 🙌
You are such an epic team! and then van is looking gooooood! Woop! Kate x
Thanks Kate 💜💜
I bet that was nerve wracking, I just drilled the hole in my van for solar cables and that was bad enough - talk about measure twice cut once. I think I must have measured it about 10 times :-) Great job with the windows, they look great.
So nerve wracking! We need to do the solar and maxx air fan in the next couple of weeks …. More holes 🙈🙈🙈🙈
Can u please send me all links please
Hey, the links to the paints should be in the description…. 😀
you guys are smashing it . drop them thumbs up guys and girls its free and really helps the lovely channel they have
Thank you so much for your support 💜
Nice one brother!! ( and sis) see Jackson wanted his 5 seconds of fame!.. seriously impressed with how you’re getting on with this! Proud of you guys! 💪🏼 #teamwork
Ralph is getting jealous! He want his fame 😂
Good job, I just have 1 small one and a maxx air fan and getting nervous. Glad I subscribed so I can follow along.
Thanks so much! We have just had our maxx air fan delivered…. So that’s a job very soon 😬 Let us know if you have any tips!! 💜
Just binge watched the series so far. Good clear advice. Thanks. Are you going to have belted seating in the rear or are you just going 3-across in the front?
Thanks so much! We did go back and forth about that for ages…. In the end we decided just to use the ones in the front! 💜
what a great job u guys are doing looks amazballs love it keep up the great work cant wait to see more
Thank you so much! New video coming out tonight 🙌
Looks really nice
Thank you 🙏
You did a great job.
Ahhh thank you 🙏
My dad painted his camper van and car using a paint brush and it was so good everyone thought he had spray painted it.
That’s cool! What colour did he paint them?
Great job I am just waiting for a dry weekend so I can paint my 19 year old Mercedes’ van
Oooo good luck! What colour are you going for?
Love the color
Thanks Gina 💜
Just come across your channel and the van looks great can’t wait to see your progress in the future 😊
Thank you so much for following along! We have been fitting windows this week so keep your eyes peeled for that 😁😁
Lots of hard work has gone into this, it looks amazing well done both of you.
Thank you for following along and watching 😀
FISHIN LINE IS ALOT STRONGER
Ohhhh yes! That is a great idea!
Don't forget to update DVLA / Insurance
Ahhh yes - great point Ash! I meant to mention this in the video and completely forgot 🙈🙈🙈
Looks really good
Thank you 🤩
Wow great video and so much work, very impressive, looking forward to the next one ☝️
Thank you 🙏
Omg I love it. What a fantastic colour choice. 😊
Thank you! Super happy with how the colour turned out!
Looks great, I like the colour when it's on the van as opposed to the colour in the tin. If you can black the plastics it would look amazing! Great work and good tips for anyone who is going to paint their van.
Thanks Ched! I agree …. It was a bit scary looking in the tin but went on nicely! I was looking at some back to black today…. So defo going to do that and get some wheel trims…. I think that will really make it pop 🤞
looking good how about back to black for the plastics
Yes!!! Great minds think alike! I was searching this up earlier today! 💯 going to do this soon! Should be a quick cheap job (hopefully)🤞
Just in case you don't see my other comment @@Rags2Pitches- don't use b2black - it's crap - it just fades again really quickly. Use forever black. £30 but dead easy to apply and you can do all plastics with one pack.
You guys are such a cute couple, can't wait to see the journey!
Ahhh thanks so much 💜
did you really need to paint the roof as it cant really be seen plus when you add the stuff to the roof most of it will be covered, also you should have used panel wipe/thinners to clean the paint work and don't touch it after as the grease/oils in the skin will leave traces behind and the paint wont stick, wow hand rolling a van that's a first for me lol what kind of paint is that you are using ?
Ah yes - we considered that about the roof…. But we will most likely get a drone in the future for videos so wanted the roof to match for some epic shots! Plus we had enough paint to cover it so was worth the extra bit of work in our opinion! It’s military vehicle paint!
Love it!
Thank you 💜💜💜
Can’t wait to watch this
Thanks! It’s live on the channel now! Hope you enjoy 🙌
Teamwork makes the dream work hey! Looking good, I immediately started thinking what you would name her ( him!? ) and wonder whether tonight’s result may influence your decision?
Yasss….. Cali came up with the name Gretel (alongside Greenie) which we think could be a good name! Don’t think we will call the van Harry 😂😂😂
Whoop! Well done!😊🎉x
Thanks Kate! We got there in the end 😀
Thanks for making it simple to watch...really interesting..
Thanks so much Chris 💜
Nice video! Love the way everything is explained In detail. Looking forward to the next video. Cheers
Thanks so much 🙌
Great job guys
Thank you 🙏
Great track. Hope the weather improves soon, looking forward to seeing how you got on.
Thanks! Keep praying for us 🙌
That’s coming on nicely… but yeah you’re right about the great British summertime.
It sucks! We just need 2 clear days 🙈🙈
I was going to mention what’s involved having a shower..hot water or not, and how to store water and power etc for the shower etc…would have been a big hole in your budget….i think a wise decision/ compromise to scrap the shower idea. Have you thought about some sort of heating..diesel heater etc…this would not hurt your budget too much. Be aware gas heater are not very safe as far as carbon monoxide, and a diesel heater would be great for your kid to be comfortable at night. Budget around £180 to do a diesel heater. A Kidde 5CO carbon monoxide alarm is excellent recommended and about £16, a must have for safety. I have an old one, works well and has a Test feature. Are you getting a power bank thing or thought about solar? This could be a major cost. Wet toilet ( cassette plus chemicals) or dry ( compost type)?
Thanks for the info Richard! Yes we have purchased a diesel heater and will definitely get some kind of monitor / alarm you mention. We actually have purchased a power bank and will have a 12v simple system running alongside that! For the toilet I am leaning more towards a compositing one as less headache disposing of it! 💜
@@Rags2Pitches diesel heaters are well worth your budget, I recommend even the Chinese diesel heater, but upgrade the fuel line if u get a green one, it’s too soft and will give u issues down the line( so to speak) once diesel has been running though it a while…plenty of research required on YT! …upgrade other fittings too, don’t go cheap, spend about an extra £25 to get your Chinese diesel heater installed properly, plus u will need a mounting plate, make sure it it deep enough………and I would not get a cassette toilet, go dry….you can find some pretty good cheap ish ones, but with a kid I would look at those over a cassette toilet all day long. A bucket with a bin liner will do!!😅
The fasteners for exhaust and inlet are not that safe that come supplied, so do your research before u fit it!
Loving the progress guys. You need to get yourselves a Joolca shower for your outdoor sitch!
Yes!! We have been looking out those! Seems a good option 💜
Good stuff, just keep an eye on the weight as you progress , we have the same van . Good decision not to include shower, space is premium. cheers.
Thanks! We are very conscious of weight for sure!
Also. Remember a mask when using spray adhesive. It's "known to cause cancer" - horrible stuff even if it is effective. Best not to breathe it in. Love your flooring. We used planks rather than a big piece and used rubber coin flooring in the "garage"
Thank you! We might actually upgrade the garage flooring to the rubber coin one later down the line if it doesn’t hold up very well! 💜
@@Rags2Pitches it'll probably be fine tbh. I also laid it after I'd built all our benches and kitchen so I didn't lay more weight down on the floor. Adding all our weight, fuel, water and all the insulation, wood etc you'd be amazed how close you get to being overweight - so that's worth considering. All in we have about 150kg spare when full of everything. Which isn't a lot. But that's everything - clothes, fuel etc.
Don't forget to sound deadening the bottom of the rear door and side door. It makes a massive difference to how they feel and sound when shut. I've also added it on the cab doors. Makes it sound much more premium and reduces road noise massively. Also did the roof too - it's the noisest panel - be sure to stick the ribs to the roof if they've got a gap too - it adds rigidity and I just used some bags of soil on the roof to weigh it down whilst the sika stuck.
Thank you! Yes we have removed the panels and put sound deadening in the bottom of the doors too as you suggest 😀
Nice job guys looking good😅
Thank you 🙏
Nice job guys looking good😅
