Mostly our neighbors around us have a joke that we put out poisons etc. and just chase the little devils next door for the year and then the neighbor chases them back to our house the next year.

Baking soda is alkaline, & vinegar is acidic, so they tend to cancel each other out. Either one would be more effective without the other. Instead of combining them, you should pick one & combine it with something else to make it more deadly. For instance, mix baking soda with powdered sugar in a bowl, then dust the ant bed with the mixture. The soda will kill the ants only if they eat it, which the sugar fools them into. Or instead of soda, combine powdered sugar with borax, which will kill the queen after the workers deliver it to her.

An armadillo is our only anteater north of the Mexican border. If given a choice an armadillo will eat every fire ant mound it finds. Their manure is usually pure fire ant body shells if fire ants are still in the area.

Fire ants love how you mow your lawn. Used to be you have one mound with a queen and a half acre, thanks to all you fools using quote-unquote fire ant killer, keeping your lawn's ugly and mowed short, they'll have dozens of mounds and Queens on the same amount of land. The people that market that crap tell you that they'll come up with a solution no just keep paying them, have a lot of industrial waste to sell you still.
