I remember my mum buying the same Cornelius from wellworths back in 1974it was £1,65, i also went Apple picking to earn money to buy the rest of them and i did and I still have them and i bought reproductions last year mego apes are my most favourite, even though I've got twelve in Hasbro apes and side show apesand i bought new ape clothes from super heroes in different variations to put on some thrift store finds ,

As a kid of the early/mid 1970s, I remember these Action Jackson figures!! I grew up in Seattle, Washington and money was tight in our family and these Action Jackson figures were cheaper than the GI Joe figures and accessories that went with them. My favorite on was the one with the parachute pack… Well, both Action Jackson AND GI Joe action figures influenced me to being the man I am. A retired US Army paratrooper and a retired law enforcement officer. Sadly, today young boys are not encouraged to be men, but something far less than a man. Also!! Every Christmas for 2-3 years, my mother would buy a “foot locker” filled of accessories like helmets, rifles, grenades, etc… from Monogamy Wards’s Christmas catalog to go with my Action Jackson and GI Joes figure collection.

It must be amazing to have one of those ten pictures hanging on your wall. As a little boy I sat enthralled by each picture.

This is the figurine I was talking about on another blog. At the time , I was saying they should produce a G.I. Joe astronaut action figure that is 4inch or classified series. I do have this one, that was released as a Mercury Astronaut for G.I. Joe but without the capsule.

Where did the females go their were some female astronauts too

I had this set as a kid in the 60s. I used to stand in the middle of our lounge room and spin round and round, holding the space capsule with outstretched arms till I was dizzy. I also had the deep sea diver as well. He used to take regular dunks in the bath. Remember the pull tag A.Man they brought out that used to talk too ? Great memories.

I had everything thunderbirds from the 60s, it was a mission for my two sisters to find anything to do with thunderbirds as I was crazy about it. It makes me wonder how much money my mum spent on them, I know they weren’t expensive back then but times were hard. I had one thing that no other thunderbird collector I’ve spoke too has heard of, it was the lady Penelope’s tea service!! I got one Christmas, never been able to find one since so it makes me think it was a cheap company who had stuck thunderbirds wording on the box just to flog them. Unfortunately when I was 6 years old (I think I was 6) we moved house but the people who moved us were undesirables and I can remember my TB1 sticking out of the very large box all my thunderbirds were in, a day or so after we’d moved into the next house I asked for my thunderbirds but the box had vanished!!! The people who moved us probably stole it. I started my collection in the 90s when matchbox brought them back, I now have hundreds of thunderbird items!!! I’ve just bought a die cast zero x!!!

This brought back great memories as I had the wired remote Stingray toy as a child!

I have a mint Matt mason coloring book now. As a kid I had Matt Mason toys, for some reason I loved the helmet with the yellow visor. I grew up in Chicago, I didn't know they were popular over seas. 2 lovely finds were ,2 original Hawaii five O police badges used in the 1960s/70s TV series!! I got both in Thier leather wallets for £50..!! NOW Thier valued at £5,000+ each!! (Not that they will ever be sold!!!...love em 2 MUCH..!!) Again MOST thort them crap or a joke but DONT laugh NOW.. I DO!! 👍😉

2 early-ish boot sale finds (when they 1st started..1983..) were a space1999 Original prop stun gun..!! & Tom bakers original sonic screwdriver...!! (That I bort for £5..!! ...the stun gun cost me £25..!!) I also found captain Kirk's original 1966 flip top communicatior from star trek..advertised in a long gone free ads paper..!! It cost me £100..!! & Is valued at thousands 2 day as it's not quite the crap it was thort of years ago!! (It's the TRUE inspiration for the mobile phone!! U now rely on ..!!) Also found not long ago!! Badges used in the TV series " the time tunnel"got ALL four for £30..!! Off a house clearance guy near Hollywood!! ( Bastard import tax cost me £20 MORE!! So TOTAL £50) ALL revalued at around £2,400 due 2 the characters who wore them..!! & An original Pertwee unit beret & arm patch..found by a woman in a Manchester charity shop!! I got them off her for £30..!! & She was delighted after paying £3 for them!! So like I say bargains do exist!! 👍

Finally got a nice boxed example..a few years back The guy let it go for £150 after 15 watchers left it!! (He's actually got 2 guns so a real added bonus!!) A rich twat called Mick hall bolloxed UP prices after daddy's money bought him everything!! I've collected for 40yrs & found stuff at realistic prices!! " I collect science fiction..I NEVER pay it..!! " NEVER say wot ure into As they cash in on enthusiasm..!! Trust me!! Yes!! I've MANY MUCH treasured items!! & A few 1 & ONLY bits found by chance!! Also major props from cult TV...like the avengers!! The Sweeney the PROFESSIONALS!! & Dr who!! ( Classic!! Not the new shite..full of Gaylord's!!) So things will ALWAYS turn up!! & In places ude NEVER suspect!! ALWAYS buy for love.. NEVER profit!!! Remember we who grew up with these shows are getting older .& The next generation are not interested in it!! Infact they ridicule it!! ...we NEVER really own anything..we are just caretakers...!! So enjoy it for what it is!! & Not what it may? Be worth Coz that's just SAD!!! 👌 Spectrum is green!! 😉
