Did you print out the vinyl reversed or regular?
Bro I'm using the same system wanted to see if somebody else is doing it good to see it. 1st I created the design for vinyl thand for vinyl then I heat transfer it on the screen tape then start a screen printing
Thank you. I’ve been thinking to myself for the past few days about the easiest way to use vinyl to burn screens. You nailed it with this!
Thanks for the video bro, God Bless
Shoutout to you for recording everything with no edits.
Did you just stencil it out n leave it on the transfer tape ?!?!! Then you burned it
it did not work for me with a 500 to 1,000 watt light with htv viynl
Did you mirror the picture or just left it regular cut
Great idea thanks for sharing
Hey what can I use for water pressure in the house to spray out my stencil for printing?
I use a garden hose and nozzle just put on jet
@@davidmendoza813 indoors how do you connect it?
@@Blazetv1718 oh yea sorry lol my bathroom window is close to my outside hose so I run thru the window and rinse in the tub. You could always take outside and use the hose
I just did something similar to this. I ironed the negative of my heat transfer vinyl onto a rectangle piece of screen fabric. ( I have the wooden speedball frames, with the screen cord, not the photoemulsion type) so this worked well for me. Thanks for the video, you're right there doesn't seem to be any videos like yours! Everyone else seems to think using the sticker vinyl and transfer tape is a good idea... But I don't see it holding up long term like ours.
I have wooden ones also for 3yrs now. How long did you press?
Thanks for your instructional video. I already make it with a 50 w LED flood light (5,000 to 6,500 lumens white light). I will proof with Ecotex LED Emulsion. I let you know the results later.
What are you using to burn the screen? Do you put something on it.
Yo what size screen do you use ?
What are you using for emulsion?
First 219 person I seen on youtube screen printing. Nice job bro.
Thank you for this. Where do you buy the screens at?
Very creative and resourceful..TFS!!
Thanks for this man. Hey I’m still pretty new to screen printing and I’ve side question for you: How do you get your white ink so crisp?! I can print with black (water based) just fine, but I can’t seem to get a crisp print with white, both plastisol or water based, on a 160 screen. I’ve messed with the off-contact, but just can’t get a good print. Please help!
Is the resolution as good as a transparency ? Doe the htv get destroved removing it from the screen after exposure ?
What brand shirts are those?
What kind of light are you using
Don't you also need glass? And some black foamcore to surround the bottom and keep out light?
What type of emulsion you use bro when your not doing the vinyl method? And how long you burn it for ?
I used DC 521 Dual Cure Emulsion I got from a local print shop. And I burn for 6 mins but I’m just using lamp and a 2x4 wood stand I built
Can you save and reuse the vinyl to remake the screen or is it for one time use ?
Yea I put on a piece of extra glass so no lint or dust gets on it then can be reused
whats the distance from the top of the frame to the light and time do you use to burn imagen? great job!
This shit is perfect I’ve been trying with Oracal 651 with little success but now I know I can burn a screen with siser easyweed and it looks way easier. Gracias
No problem let me know how it goes!
That is awesome !! I cant wait to try it :)
That is so funny the first thing I saw were your tattoos and I guess I recognized the work lol Im Julio's wife. I'm finally going to try screen printing with vinyl. Thank you so much for all of your help, I really appreciate it!!!
Sandra Ibañez Delgado that’s funny! No problem if there’s anything I can help with feel free to ask!
I have a xtra black plastisol ink if you don’t have I can take with me tmrw I have appt with Julio
Nice, I knew this could work.
Do you have to mirror the design?
Thanks 🙏
Awesome vid...Where do you use the 18 inch and the 20 inch at? How far away is your light from screen? And also, what's your burn time?
Cool. For the Halogen light, do I need to remove the UV glass filter?
Mel S no you shld be fine leaving it on
@@davidmendoza813 Awesome!! Would it hurt if I did take it off? Thnks again
No I don’t think it would hurt if it was off
Great video bro...very informative!!! I'm ready. I go in 5 days. Hope my scar tissue doesn't become an issue. Thanks!!
Yuri Branch Good luck to you on your surgery! Everyone is different I believe in recovery like I said unfortunately I returned to same place of work that had cause the back injury and just got worse for me. Keep me updated on how your doing!
@@davidmendoza813 Thank you!! I will let you know how it goes this Friday.
Does it have to be a 160 mesh screen
Boogz no ive done in a 110 and the yellow mesh screens as well. If you try this let me know how worked for you!
Ok I will thank you
Can I use a 600 watt halogen light
Yea I think 600 wld be fine. All depends on emulsion too some don’t need such high burn time
It worked perfectly bro your a genius, can you burn the screen with white vinyl
great video , i make htv shirts also , and your right it does take a long time to make multiple shirts with vinyl
How are you doing now? 1 year out! :)
MultiKillGaming to be honest I feel same as I did day before surgery. Sad to say but I returned to the same job and continue to have back issues. They say pain due to built up scar tissue but for now I will continue to stretch and no heavy lifting. My regret is not leaving my current job and making a career change to better my health and not the money.
David Mendoza I’m sorry to hear that! I imagine that’s really frustrating. You heat press right? I also own a hear press, it’s harder on the back than people realize.
Does the heat transfer print just stick to the screen on its own before you do lighting and rinse ?
Clinton T. Biddle yes once you weed it, it has the sticky side to it.
Nice job! Thanks for sharing your process.
Thanks for making and sharing this video. Do you coat both sides of your screens with emulsion? Do you use a light coat? I’ve tried a few times and either can’t spray out the image or it takes it all off. I wish I could get this to work! Note: I didn’t use your light setup. I hope your back is doing good.
Richard Axelson yes I coat both sides. The hardest part is figuring out your burn time for your emulsion your using. When the image is not coming out maybe doesn’t have enough time burned so just washes off emulsion. Is the image your using for transparency dark enough? I had a issue when on the paper I was using the ink was not dark enough so under the light it wasn’t anything to burn into the screen. So I switched over to using htv black for my burning method. Hope this helps. Yes my back is doing much better! Thank you!!
Richard Axelson also let the emulsion dry for about a 45min after coating. After burning screen you will give a light wash on both sides of screen let sit for about a Min you will see the image you burned start to come thru then hit it harder pressure and will wash out only the image.
David Mendoza glad to hear your back is doing better!
David Mendoza I’m going to build your light setup. I’m going to try your transfer vinyl method because you might be right about not having a dark enough image .
I let my screens dry over night, then burn.
What are you using to wash out the screen in the tub?
Treyvon Randolph I’m lucky to have a window right under my hose right outside my bathroom window so I just bring the hose in thru the window and spray it out
David Mendoza ahhh damn that very fortunate. Alright man, thanks for the quick reply. I’ll have to buy a water gun or something. Keep the videos coming boss. Appreciate the information.
Treyvon Randolph if you happen to use this method let me know I haven’t seen anyone or have heard anyone do it yet but I just made a few screens a few days ago and still working good!
David Mendoza will do. I’ll keep you posted and let you know how it turns out
David Mendoza hey man just following up with you. Used your method and it work perfectly. Going to be saving money not having to buy ink and transparency paper. Appreciate you boss.
How easy it´s to remove the vinyl after the print?
Necrogeno it’s siser htv so pretty easy once it’s cut just remember not to mirror the image. Once u burn onto the screen the stencil comes right off! Let me know if you have anymore questions
Whats up David Just hit your vids. Hope you don’t think this is criticism. Its not, just some points I hope help you out on your path. Check out Scott King Designs here on youtube. ( I have nothin to do with him or his channel) He has an excellent vid on registering screens with vinyl. He uses a traditional print method with registration marks on the vinyl itself. Has it down to quick and all upfront on the Cameo and on the table. Lets you do multi color on your 1 station 4 color press. Keep it going man! Learn , Teach and share always. Good Luck brother!!!!
Share your post on halogen light
hslogon light yellow white
hi halogen light where did you get
Still works good? And how many inches from the light to the screen?
Aint you supose to keep the screen in the dark when u put on the stencil?
FRESH 100 TV so far I’ve done about 8-10 screens no issues so far with it. If you try it out I’d love to know how turns out for you! Any questions just send me a msg!! Thanks
