As a Houston fan- I think Iowa State will gives Auburn A LOT of problems- I say this from a defensive perspective with what they did to my Houston Cougars. They also have some key players that will just be a problem on the offensive end that could see the deal. Will have to see.

@@swhitaker1003 well it was 4, and yeah Kentucky went up by double digits multiple times if you watched the game it was clear who the better team was , UNC would get it close and then go down by 12 again without RJ and the pick and roll it wouldn’t have been close at all, my whole point was Armando was the best big in that game but you couldn’t tell because the game was to fast for him. Adou and Trae Mitchell Aaron Bradshaw all out played him because they all run and spread the floor. This team looks a lot like that team with a couple good freshman and RJ the best guard in the country and a couple bigs who are smaller not traditional

As a Houston fan- can confirm and it's been that way for years under Coach Sampson, I have come to realize that over the past 2 years. As much as I would love for us to play more hot names in the P5 world, blue bloods (I think our coach is opposed to just playing games like this because all that does is appease a ever-so-growing criticism or people of the CBB want Houston to be more battle tested to validate how good we actually are based on our ranking and who we play), or a Gongaza (power program and other power schools) and shut up the criticism, I like how we have our OOC schedules set every year. It has and always be about "developing" Houston so that the players are more rigorous when competing at the highest level, specifically for our younger players to get experience before hitting the books of a P5 OOC game or the conference juggernaut. But we do need to start having more high profile games though (at least) in the developing sense or more competitive non-P5 mixed a few P5 or some good P5s to test ourselves before conference play. The Houston fans have also been calling for it a lot as of recent but are also fine with how our OOC because we trust what's being built here. One thing I will say was it's not our fault if we beat schools that were supposed to be (and I would say are) preason good, P5, or really good G5. For example, I thought UPenn was going to give us trouble after beating Villanova only to found out we beat them really good whereas Yale gave Kansas some trouble on in AFH. Or A&M's Wade Taylor shooting lights out for games against us specifically but only to go lower than that scoring in non-Houston matchup games. The standard for us is real but I get it. Edit: I just remembered that we have for 4 freshman, 2-3 of them redshirted, a new PG, Terrance is coming back off a injury for being out an entire season only having played 1 full season previously, and Lath who was not supposed to be playing but now is and probably will be getting minutes here and there for this upcoming season and if you total that up thats about 7/14 players on our roster vs the rest being vets/skilled already in their own right. So when I think about our OOC I actually agree with it more now to get all the screws screwed in before conference play to get 50% adjusted with the other half to do something incredible this season. Probably a good tourney this season but definitely not a natty, which I could see us getting a natty the season after this one.

Who gets more minutes Shak or Coit??? I think Shak will, with the defense pedigree.. I just dnt see Coit playing over Zeke, Griffen, or Harris.. if he takes up any minutes I wld think from Shak

He had 5 transfers on the roster a couple of seasons ago, and he ended up with significantly more than 9 on his roster this season despite saying otherwise. Cal is full of shit, and is stubborn as a mule, but you will just have to discover that on yourself. He told on himself when he brought over the exact same staff full of his "yes men" + his son, instead of going out and finding an X's and O's coach which he hasn't had since John Robic had enough and bolted.

He hasn’t changed anything. He kept his same staff except he replaced his two best assistants with the worst d1 coach in history and his….. son 😭😭😭😭

@@502_Wildcat he has 9 players that will play. He said from the beginning he would fill out the other spots with walk on types and that’s what he did. Excited for b-ball season and we don’t care what KY fans think about it.
