Today, our mission is to conduct global air, space, and cyber-enabled special operations across the spectrum of conflict to prepare for, fight, and win our nation’s wars. We’re U.S. Special Operations Command’s tactical air and ground integration force and the Air Force’s special operations ground force who leads global access, precision strike, personnel recovery and battlefield surgery operations.
We currently operate out of 29 locations across the globe and have 13 geographically separated units. There are only about 1,000 Special Tactics operators in the Air Force and approximately 2,500 members make up the Special Tactics community.
Since Sept. 11, 2001, Air Force Special Tactics have been involved in almost every major operation and has seen a significant amount of combat. They are the most highly decorated community in the Air Force since the end of the Vietnam War.

Air Force Special Tactics - Special Reconnaisance
Special Reconnaissance Airmen are highly trained commandos with unique training to conduct multi-domain reconnaissance and surveillance across the spectrum of conflict with a focus on lethal and non-lethal air-to-ground integration of air power.
They deploy rapidly and undetected by any means (land, sea, air), anytime and anywhere to prepare the environment for future operations and obtain, transmit, and action strategic, operational, and tactical intelligence information.
USAF SR deploys as elements of Special Tactics teams to prepare the environment, ensure global battle space awareness, enable Global Access, and effect air, space, cyberspace, and information superiority for the successful execution of joint force objectives.

Anyone know why they’re wearing the mandible face-guard throughout the assault?
With conventional warfare coming back and artillery/shrapnel being a massive threat frag armor and soft armor is making a huge comeback. So full face helmets will probably become a lot more common to prevent a lot of the stuff that you see in ukraine with people getting their jaw and faces torn off from drones, airburst munitions, and artillery frag.

DAGRE is not a Special Tactics career field. DAGRE members belong to Special Operations Security Forces Squadrons and are different from Special Tactics Operators.
Bravery comes from men from all services. USAF is no exception. Even a crewchief would have helped him.

Those mesh masks are made by Opscore and the like, they’re there to protect our face while using simunitions during force on force (as shown) we are required to wear them. So pipe down little one!
