Some people were curious about what the letters and numbers meant when I was talking, so I just wanted to tell you what they mean: The first thing I say is my callsign: KJ7NLL. Then, I say my ham grid square: CN85. Finally, sometimes I say CQ CQ CQ, and that means that I am asking to talk to anyone on the radio. You can get your callsign by taking an amateur radio test. Push to Talk Circuit for LNA (without a relay!)

We show a push to talk circuit to use the ACC1 port on the Icom 9700 radio to turn on and off and LNA. This is designed for an LNA, but could work for a power amp if you use a P-channel mosfet instead of an N-channel mosfet. Register for DAC: www.dac.com/

That was very cool
what is the repeater frequency?
Amazing job!
Just looked up your call and Wow you are definitely radioactive! Impressive beam you assembled looks like you have a half way decent apprentice working besides you. Always helpful to get the projects off the ground.. Well 73 and good luck with your channel and all your endeavors. Hope to hear you on the bands...✌
Hello from Poland! Got here by accident, but I admire you passion! I'm not a radiooperator but always wanted to try it out ;) 73!
Smart lady 👍👍
Dear KJ7Nll. It is very to see that our hobby is not limited to any age group! My QTH is EM75PG, Southeastern USA. When the ISS comes overhead, there is nearly always a jam-up of hams trying to make contacts. Glad to see your success. Keep it up! KQ4IXD
Way to go girl! Great to see young kids on the air!
Good video!
im just getting started. good to learn from you
Super cool stuff here!
Wow truly awesome!
Awesome haven't seen the repeater in use that's cool 😎 great job 👏🏻👍🏻
May I ask, are you using the same 2m helical antenna for both transmit (~145.99MHz) and receive (~435.8MHz)? Or do you have a separate antenna for 70cm reception?
The 2m helical antenna has 2 windings. On the outside is the 2m winding, and on the inside, there is an aluminum 70cm winding
Here is another video where I go into more detail about that: czcams.com/video/Ab_oJHlENwo/video.html
@@KJ7NLL Thank you - I will watch it.
@@KJ7NLL Actually - that video only shows the 2m coil. Do you have a video showing construction of the 70cm coil? And what about the feed points and tuning?
I have a presentation where I talk about the project, and I talk about that coil and show some pictures: czcams.com/video/vKeOOaMB4ZQ/video.html
Brilliant video, well done.
cool
Nice! I like your novel PCBized slip ring. I wonder how much wear it will take!
It has had hours of testing, and it hasn't worn out yet! if it does, then I could go from 1 oz to 2oz copper on the board.
Great job! Now that is learning. Much better than being indoctrinated with critical race theory and gender identity studies.
Good Job dude!
Please add Details like drawing/design/coding
I was interviewed on the Teardown Sessions with Crowd Supply, where I go into much more detail about that. link to interview: czcams.com/users/liveTMeRyTrTooM

This is really cool!!
Hello i am new to ham radio i have a handheld is it possiblw if you can make a video on how to use repeater
👍😁
Awesome
Thanks
It's probably more feasable to build a cross-dipole yagi "arrow" antenna at 2 meters though. That will still have the circular polarization while also being much quicker and easier to build while also giving higher gain.
As a teenager myself, I find it amazing this kid has the proper tools and resources to build such antennas. While I've build my own share of crazy contraptions (including a cardboard satellite dish), they were all crudely built with stuff I scavenged around the house. Congrats on actually having the right tools for the right jobs!
You nailed it
KJ7NLL Grettings from Ct2gnh.
Everyone should like and sub to boost them, this some next level social impact material. Who would've thought someone see a kid talking to space guys on ham, crazy.
Cool!
That kid is going places. Congrats to the parents, the world need more people like you!

Great setup! Makes me want to build one! 👍🏻

This girl blows my mind very smart. Keep up the good work
This is epic
Nice 👍
Very good lecture, you have a lot of knowledge! Best regards and I wish you every success :-)
Well explained and nice content! Super excited to see a creative young maker has been seen by more people! Wondering if you'd like to have any of these designs printed out? If so, we'd love to give our support to print the PCBs out and reach any collab together if there's chance. (PCBWay zoey) 🤗
Consider yourself very blessed to have all of these resources at such a young age that many would dream of to have these luxuries
Great job! Maybe a solar tracker next? 73 KD7KCP
Actually, the plan is to make it track 200 of the brightest stars and planets!

Subscribed de Ei2iP, have a listen to a school ISS contact that I was part of in Ireland, last October 2023. czcams.com/users/live2E8wZd2gBoo?si=8YzkKDV5B5UtMj-2
Thanks for the video! We have been filling out the application for the ARISS contact for my school, and it is due at the end of February!
you could use pre made slip rings instead of designing them yourself. Those contacts are gonna wear out very fast. I'm sure the slip rings will be so much more efficient.
we couldn't figure out how to connect the slip ring to it so that the wires wouldn't twist up
This is awesome!! I’m in college learning stuff you’re doing at half my age!! Keep going kid, you’ll go far :)
Very impressive work. The use of the battery contacts to jump between the PCB's is an ingenious idea. I have always used pogo pins for such tasks, although they tent to be a bit to pointy and can eventually scrape the plane down to the dielectric. Lots of very good thought put into this design.
What a great project! I can't wait to see it in action! *subscribed*
This kid is half my age with double my knowledge
same here :D
I am wondering if this antenna could be made to receive deep fringe VHF-UHF TV signal ?? The Free To The Air TV frequency ??? Nice work young lady too. vf
It probably could, but the impedance match would have to be re-tuned.
@@KJ7NLL Any ideas on what type antenna would work best ?
Awesome work! Easiest channel subscription ever.
