Roberto Di Donato learning to be a better photographer.
I am an amateur photographer from the western suburbs of Sydney Australia. I started learning photography back in the 90's but didn't really go anywhere with it, but now in the last couple of years I have picked it up again and learning with the Olympus OMD EM10 Mark II.
This channel has tutorials on how the camera works and I go through the entire manual and make it easy to follow. I also go on photo walks with my dog Jerry and like to give tips and tricks along the way. But the main thing is to have fun with my photography and get out with my dog.
If you like photography and especially the micro four thirds world and you love dogs then subscribe. I try to make at least one video per week and its usually a fun day out with Jerry and my camera.
I have a website but there isn't much going on there. Its all happening here. Enjoy

have the original for few years and recently tried it when biking for an hour and still shooting video perfectly. is there any update on the original? how to check the update?
I was just playing with it again. Put a mic setup on it and great. You update automatically when you connect to the DJI mimo app on phone. If there is one. Nothing for axtion1 but I did update my action3 to latest firmware and it improved quality
Nice bleached out look at 12:03. I got this camera in mint condition a while ago but haven't used it yet...😁Anyway, the Canon Powershot G-series is a pleasure to play around with.
Looking back I'm appreciating that shot more.. yeah it's a great little retro camera.. still stands up today for image quality 😆
Sorry i cant open highlight and shadow control on my em1 mark 1. I press the fn2 button then the back and rear dial but nothing happens.
@@huyle5152 when pressing f2 keep it pressed down and after a second the multifunction menu will come up and then using the wheel you can cycle through to the highlights and shadow, let go of the F2 and now when you press F2 again it will be on the highlights and shadow option. If that doesn't work then do a factory reset and try again
@@robdido oh i realize someone change the fn2 function in the menu of my camera. Now i figured it out. Thank u for your video and sharing ❤️
Good and fun video, I don’t like Ben Stiller, but I like Jerry and Roberto, next you should do the “Rear Window” movie from 1954.
Fun fact Jimmy used an Exakta with a 400 mm Kilfitt lens... Haha.. not that bad of an idea.. I'll have to ask Jerry to buy it for me...
That made me laugh Roberto, in a good way. Seamless editing too. How did Jerry sleep through it???
Haha... Jerry was pretending as she was embarrassed for me... I sort of had all these ideas in my head but somehow couldn't get them to come out properly. Even chatgpt can't help me haha 😆
I just found out we can be Australian Breakdancers for the 2028 Olympics lol. Though im American, I'll go over on a visa. Jk😅😅
Lol.. I saw bits of it and am still scratching my head. It could have been a dream sequence in the movie... Almost as embarrassing as my attempt at movie reviewing 😆
@robdido your review was good . Well done and entertaining
You have become a photographer/ film analyst. Well done. Now you get some Kubrick or Sergio (speggheti westerns), there's a lot of awesome cinematography. Fantastic video
@@ericlundquist3466 haha... I think more space western is more my style and I do Mel Brooks spaceballs... Lol 😆 thanks Eric.. I was a bit nervous putting this one out..
I have looked at the wording of the AFL photography rules and it states that no photography to be use for commercial purposes. It does not say you can't have a lens greater than 200mm. It states that's you must not bring photography equipment for commercial purposes apart for personal use, give list of equipments greater than 200mm is one of them. Documents like this one must always read carefully. Each word means something. Especially in this case the word apart from personal use.
@@narsplace it doesn't mention crop factor. I assume they mean 200mm full frame. Either way the problem is trying to convince the security that anything other than a phone is not personal... People with real cameras must be professional.. lol is what most people think these days
@@robdidoThe best thing to do is just stand there. The technicality is that they could refuse you entry but they cannot move you out of the line. This relates to arrest laws in Australia. As it is perfectly legal for any person in Australia to arrest someone they believe who has committed a crime, but it is illegal to un-arrest a person. So in order to move out of the line, by law they must take me to the office and hand me to the police. So in most situations they will get the police to do it. Not sure in NSWs but in Victoria police often don't side with security. Not sure about NSWs but in Victoria the police don't like security guards in Victoria.
@@narsplace good thing I can fit in my pocket the 150 and they never check pockets. Mind you half the time they don't even do a good job checking bags. Most phones now can zoom in better but quality is crap. And even so agencies would only buy photos from the official photographer
@@robdido forgot to mention before but it relates to deleting photos of a camera. The other exception to deleting photos on a camera is by who took the photo not who's camera it is. For example if you and I swap cameras for a day and gave our cameras back to each and a few hour later you told me to delete your photos of my camera I would have to do that and could in trouble for keeping them and also for distributing them. Which is why when ever you do a camera swap one must use the own SD card.

I went to the is old fancy hotel with my Fuji camera and asked if I can get a few shots of the lobby. They told me not with a pro camera but you can with an iphone. I said I already did that and went one step further. I told them, you do do realize that an iphone is just about as good quality as using a pro camera, right? It was like their minds just short circuited.

Nice Picture! Great composition. You caught a fleeting moment at just the right instant.
@@robinschaeffer6252 cheers. Yeah it was something I was thinking of at the time. Bit of luck too haha.. but it fit well for the theme.
Never seen your videos before, algorithm brought me here. But I think your picture was better than the 1st place for this competition, because it was taken at the local fair. Lots of your local people probably went to the fair and had a good time. The dog&lady picture could have been taken anywhere. I clicked on your video because I'm in a sort of a similar situation. I entered a local photo contest with a geographical limitation, my first photo competition. The pictures are in a popular vote and judging at the same time (right now), so I have seen the other pictures but the winners are still to be decided. A lot of the other pictures are technically better, more beautiful etc than what I took. But only in a few of them you can even tell where the picture was taken due to background blur or a close crop of the subject. I tried to pick my subject matter to best represent the geographical area, but I don't think I'll finish in the top ten if you just look the pictures without comparing them to the actual prompt. There are two categories and many of the pictures in the other category don't even fill the one but very specific criteria for that category... feeling pretty deflated and I wonder if it was even a good idea to enter in the competition now that I know this. That there is a good chance to lose to entries that aren't made to answer to the prompt of the category. Sort of like entering a marathon and seeing other people on bikes and cars at the start line.
@@cabbelos hey thanks for watching. I agree the photos should match the theme.. I had heaps of better photos but thought deep on the ones that I think the judges were asking for. It's good practice anyway to enter' you never know. Sometimes the story wins over the more technical better photo. Good luck and thanks for sharing. It's always good to meet fellow photographers 😆
