Notice this absolutely massive army of calvary never appears again.
He shouldnt have burnt his daughter.
One thing about this fight Ramsey might have won but he probably lost 20% to possibly 25% of his force. Stannis' force was made up of all veteran fighters and even without decent food and just having marched to here they would had put up a decent fight.
He was mildly inconvenienced
Was this how it went in the books? It looks like there might be time to make a tactical retreat to the woods, where it's harder for the enemy cavalry to flank them, plus the horses lose momentum so it's easier to unsaddle the riders. Just look at the 1415 AD. Battle of Agincourt for reference on how poorly horses do in forested terrain or adjacent to it. They may still lose to the numbers, but if a last stand is what you're looking for, why not inflict more casualties.
Hate that he went out like this
GOT should’ve been 13 seasons. 8 seasons was too rushed. They killed off so many important characters in the lamest ways possible
i'd be in the woods running for my life
Remember folks it’s not truly canon until it’s written in the books! We might get a chance to see his true military prowess on display in the books
Our men are running from the battlefield. Shameful display!
I've started leaving comments apparently. Fuck yer granda
Бред. Такую кавалерию на Севере почти невозможно содержать. Чем их тупо кормить?
I don’t see why he engaged the horses in an open field. If he stuck to the trees he MAY have stood a slight chance. Harder for horses to move in trees
Was such a lame character in the show
first character that got butchered, they didnt know what to do with him so they just killed him
Every time in Age of Empires
The men at the back not running impresses me
The greatest military strategist of westeros wouldn't be caught dead marching an army with no calvary through a snowstorm with no clue where the enemy was. This is just crap writing. I hope one of the changes RR does is this stupid plot.
A bastard fucked the ass of both Stark and Byrathion
In the books this would never happen. Stannis was feared by Tywin which should tell you a lot
there is SOMETHING we can do
Respect to Stannis and the soldiers who stood with him, they followed there commander to death without hesitation.
I never noticed, but if you look at where Stannis is at 0:17 you can see his men gather behind him quickly. I like to think those loyal were rushing to his side despite the odds.
went down as what he was, the absolute mannis
One True King

Stannis is and always will be the mannis
в каких-нибудь стратежках типа Героев 3 или 5 без проблем разберешь вражеские армии в 3-4 раза больше твоих, а тут фиг. Станнис просто не везучий король. Увы, так бывает.
Love the small detail of having many of the Baratheon soldiers at the rear of the column fleeing the other direction in the aerial shot. The ones closer to the front who can see their king drawing his sword and advancing, advance with him. The ones not being directly inspired are more likely to turn tail.
In the books, Stannis is one of my favorite characters. Good ole Stone Ice Baratheon.
When you’re lagging on the losing team
the show did him dirty. No way he'd end up like that in the book. He's the best military strategist in Westeros and he'd just walk there like that? Nah
Чугун ломается,но не гнется
Goddamnit why didn’t they do a battle
Sucks they didnt have enough time to get to the treeline
Once more into the fray
great sendoff with a terrible premise sometimes foreshadowing is obvious
kılıcı çektikten sonra gelen taşşak kokusu
Be at ease children of the TVShow, the real Stannis won´t go down that easily. He is plotting and preparing for Book Ramsay to come at him and that one isn´t nearly as clever as TV Ramsay. He also hasn´t killed his daughter and likely never will as she was left behind at Castle Black. There is still hope for Stannis the Manis
The last time Stannis truly was the Mannis
Just a family feud between him and his brother cost them the Iron Throne otherwise both were a 100 times better than Geoffrey or Tommen 😢
🫡
An honorable good but lunatic king
By law, he was the true King of Westeros . . .
He's still alive in the books. The end will definitely not be the same.
Stormland houses and bannerman are very loyal to there leaders.among others. They were loyal to robert, renly, stannis as well as jon snow.
Whats the ost name ?
The Wars to Come - Ramin Djawadi.
“There’s not going to be a siege, your grace.”
Stanis was the biggest idiot in the Game of Thrones. He killed his own brother and his precious daughter, trying to get the throne.
How tf did Stan not get slaughtered straight away
Fair question. There's a lot of chaos in battle. Stannis wouldn't have necesarily stood out as the target/leader. He was undoubtedly the greatest warrior on the field that day and could certainly protect himself. Plus he probably had several men dedicated to his personal defense.
Because he’s the fucking Mannis.
For all of stannis battle knowledge you would really expect him to have dug some trenches before this. Its the exact move he used on the wildlings and yet he leaves himself open to it. I imagine losing all your family prior to the battle would make you concentrate on other things. However in the aftermath scene with Ramsay there are embankments. Didnt really give this much thought until rewatching this.
I guess he didn't expect a large cavalry to pop up out of nowhere . . .
