Man! How I love the Alterds class.

Last I remember, in the '80s, Fuel Altereds were 245 MPH "Pedal cars" snorting down the track going every which-way. Jaw dropping to see them in the 4's over 300.

I kept getting free tickets years ago but gave them away. I never had an interest. I did finally go and to hear the top fuel’s start up and race was unreal. Larger than life. I’ve said humans are lucky to have seen only 10 incredible things in their lifetime and this is one of them. Now what I want to point out is no one is seeing these cars. If it’s on tv they just keep going. The only way to see them is at the racetrack and they won’t go because they have no interest. I feel they need to have them run for 3 days in a city area so people can see the cars and hear them. I mean these cars have to be put in front of the people at malls, grocery stores or any larger parking lot where people are known to gather. They need to be close when these things hit the gas. This is what will fill the stands and allow the sport to survive and keep going. We have the same issue with motocross. No one ever sees or hears them. They won’t go to the track and most only ride at the track now so they need small calm practice tracks near local communities so people can see them in action. To anyone that has never seen the top fuel cars run I’m telling you it will leave an imprint on your heart and mind seeing something this incredible

these were the standard before Don Garlits introduced rear engine version because of him and many other being severly injured or killed from engines exploding. All the fire and burning stuff goes right into your face. Also you are sitting on the rearend housing and transmission so if those break you got stuff flying. I still love the AA Dragsters though.

Beech Bend Dragway is the Best Track in the nation for Nostalia Drag Racing events. 🥰 NHRA changed the name of this event last year, but it will always be the Hot Rod Reunion to many.

Altered from a bracket car, I'm guessing? Altered from past seasons AA/FC losers, maybe? Try calling this class something else because these are bespoke race cars and ain't altered from something else. Stop shitting on drag racing history.

I am from Germany...I never saw a top fuel drag race...but I was always fascinated by it.. But more importend...I never saw a channel or any Videos capuring the fascination of motorsport like that...I am really blown away...

Best thing of all is that despite the engine "chingo a su madre" (flew to hell"), the guy is in one piece, safe and sound. Very impressive to got those pants burnt in a short term of time. I'll say it again, the very best is he's in one piece, safe and sound. Even the engine blown, it was hell of a race. Kudos and greetings from Mexico.
