Crüe's self-titled is my fvaorite Crüe album. It's so heavy and groovy, and the vocals are fanrastic. I like Corabi much better than Vince. I'd like it to be reissued on vinyl. I think the Cinderella cover would be perfect for a prog metal album, but not a glam metal album. Why does "Talk Is Cheap" make me think of Airwolf? :-S

You're looking for Power Pop bands you may not have heard. The Bings was based in Los Angeles from 1980-83. We'd recorded an album's-worth of songs, but disbanded before we could land a deal. Studio tapes were preseumed lost forever - until they were discovered in a filing cabinet 40 years later. The tracks were digitized and mixed. Bachelor Records has just released "Power Pop Planet" on vinyl - and you can find the LP plus assorted tracks on Bandcamp. Reviewers and dee jays place us with groups like The Cars, Paul Collins Beat, 20/20, and The Plimsouls.

Shoes has always been my favorite. Thanks for recognizing them! You might check out a band from Fort Dodge, IA called "Hawks". Their 1980 Self-titled debut is an amazing collection of power pop! They also have a second album called "30 Seconds Over Otho" and a third (cassette only) called "Hawks III". In 2003, they released a CD called Perfect Word Radio which mostly contained songs on their third album.

Hey there, I am somewhat new to the channel but want to thank you so much for introducing me to the Blood Star album! I absolutely love it and keep looking to get it on vinyl without breaking the bank. I like that the sound of this band is a bit like Bloody Hammers with the male/female mix. I really like that your best of video has some different bands (ie Blood Star) and not just the usual you see on most lists! Cheers from Toronto, Canada.

Hello Mike - I am impressed with Part 2 as much as Part 1! I caught the Juliana Hatfield Three live here in New Haven, CT back in the mid-90's at a small local club that is long gone. I remember Team Dresch also, but never had none of their output. So glad you had fun putting this together, and thanks for sharing some personal anecdotes as well. 😎

I always associate Moonspell with "Vampiria". There's a little of doom metal to some of their music too. Love me some Solitude Aeturnus. A shame they abandoned their logo though. Ooohhh.... that Baphomet bass sounds sweet! 'New Jersey' to me is the last good Bon Jovi album.

I really like 'Trash', but I always wondered why some of the songs sound like they could be on a Bon Jovi album. The answer was Desmond Child :D I think I had a Lillian Axe tape back in the day. Good stuff. I'm not sure but I think Mike Tramp from White Lion lives somewhere in my town these days. They put out some good hard rock albums for sure. I bought 'Rock n Roll Machine' recently too. It's a kick-ass album.

MV did a great job on those Saxon albums. Solitude Aeturnus is an awesme band. I was really happy when the two first albums were reissued on MoV.

Good stuff! The first couple of Vicious Rumors albums are great! The first two ones were recently reissued on Hammerheart Records (I think it was). 'Welcome to the Ball' is one of my faves.

All in all, that was a mighty great pull. All great selections.

I’m glad you took the time to try out some “audiophile” pressings. They can be really exceptional depending on the title. Hate to hear your experience was underwhelming this far. I hope you continue to give them a chance in the future. A great pressing can be really exceptional depending on the title… they can literally make the hair on the back of your neck stand up and give you goose bumps! Getting that three dimensional sound can be quite the audible experience!

Your methods are well explained. I heartily agree. I like how you us clean you don't add anything to the bath and you don't overdo the time. My record collection is made up of thousands of lps from 40 to 70 years old with some new lps. I bought a reostat the allows me to slow down the rotisserie. I also preclean with G2 solution and run about 8 to 10 minutes so that the whole lp gets about 3 minutes of cleaning. I have a 35 year old Nittygritty 1.5 vacuum machine that I use to dry the lps when done. Excellent results even on really old lps. Like you said, it can't fix damaged lps, but I don't play those. Nice video.

Farrah sounds a bit ska-inspired too. Joy Division was a good band, but I never really explored New Order. Sounds like pretty good 80s music though. I'm fine with the sound quality of MoV reissues.

You know I'm buying next to nothing lately but there was no way I wasn't getting that Traveler as soon as it came out. I can honestly say at this point that Termination Shock is one of my favorite albums in the past ten years, easily. New one is a total banger. Can't wait to listen to it a hundred more times lol. I have the blue vinyl!

Love that Kristin Hersh album and it's not normally the type of music I listen to. I think in the early to mid 90s I started to look for other genres of music while rock and metal was less popular. Hope the In This Moment albums Blood and Black Widow get a reissue sometime. Star-crossed didn't really do it for me. The first 2 Witchfinder General albums have great album art :) Good music too. Surprised to see some Foxy Brown. The only SRC I know(and like) is a band called Snake River Conspiracy. Agree with the Swift rant. Nice Lillian Axe in the background :)

Hey, what about the debut from Attack Statue. Like nothing ever. Louder than You Think, the second album from Identity Camp permanently altered the lives of dozens of people in 1979. Croaks and Whinnies, the penultimate effort by Shit Bucket List is the only reason rock didn't die in 1982. And dont get me started on Lifeboat Silence, Guarding Norma, Black Dahlia Smile, Motivational Shirt. Each band better than the next. I'll finish with two words: Teenage Haircut.

You are correct, every copy of that SRC record floating around is rough... including mine! At least mine is my parents' old copy which I heard A LOT growing up. This was my mom's favorite band as a kid and I know this album front to back. Didn't realize it was reissued I might have to upgrade.

The Seattle band, The Heats, formerly The Heaters, released their debut LP in 1980 titled, Have an Idea. Brilliant songwriting, harmonies, & power pop bliss.
