How to connect an aftermarket radio to your stock Toyota rear view camera.
Hello everybody. Here is the way to connect your Stock Toyota rear view camera to an after-market radio.
Follow directions on your 6 volt resistor module and connect to rear view camera +
located the + trigger for your aftermarket radio (usually labeled "back") and connect to the reverse + trigger from your car harness.
you need this step so you can trigger the screen of your aftermarket radio to switch to viewing the reverse cam image. If you are using an aftermarket camera, you will not need this because it has its own trigger wire.

I changed the original 20 year old battery on my 2004 S500 Mercedes. Yes. It lasted that long. 2007 Accord V6 here. My Accord had a flashing "D" gear indicator on the dash and solid VSA light. After MUCH shade tree troubleshooting it turned out that ECU was not getting a good ground connection because of a corroded wiring connection down in the driver side wheel well area. I had the ECU sent out for for repair. I've repaired the ground connection and expected a plug and play situation when reinstalling the repaired ECU. The flashing "D" gear indicator and VSA went away for sure. But now I have a recurring MAP Sensor High Voltage code. I replaced the MAP sensor... I replaced the MAP sensor wiring harness too. I checked the voltages. All is well. I can clear the CEL code with my bluetooth code reader (FIXD) but the MAP sensor code returns after maybe 10 miles of highway driving, the car stalls out at stop lights then too. Could it be that because I NEVER did this idle re-learn procedure in the multiple times I've had the battery disconnected and the ECU out of the vehicle that the ECU is acting this way? I sure hope this is the fix. I guess I'll find out.

Worked great on 2009 Accord. Cleaned out the throttle body while I was replacing the starter. It idled at 1200rpm and P0507 came out the next day. Did this procedure, then it’s back at 750-800rpm. Thank you sir, and thank you CZcams University. You learn something new everyday.

I'm pretty sure you have already addressed my issue, but I'll ask anyway. I have a 2000 Solara. All lights work exactly as they should, but the rear light brake failure lamp comes on intermittently. If I turn off the engine it may or may not be lit the next time I turn the engine on. So, all lights working as expected. Is this something wrong with the module itself? Thanks!!
@@markstevens4264 check the wiring to the module. It may have been frayed by the rear hood hinge.
@@PeterZafra Thanks for the quick reply! I'll check it out.
Have`nt changed the plugs for six years, really. Toyota`s don`t run forever without routine maintenance. Bad fuel injectors will make a 5sfe run rough also.

I'm impressed you got the battery out. My display is going bad. Honestly these are the worst power stations ever. 12.6 should be close to full I think. 4.2 x 3
I agree. There are definitely not designed to last long. Basically one bad cell cam alter the performance of the whole unit.
My fan doesn’t want to cycle a second time 🤦🏽♂️
It should be fine. You can also drive your car for a few miles and it will relearn as well.
I have a c230 kompressor and the key got washed off in a washing machine so i used a hair dryer it started working for some time but now nothings happening. Anyone got any idea what to do?
Make sure it's completely dry. I hope you removed the battery right away as that can cause damages
so, on a 2001 Lexus RX300, On Toyota with Lexus being the expensive models, I have replaced the Bulbs, checked the fuses, replaced the fuses just to be safe, and the brake lights still don't work, I have Voltage to the Light failure sensor but no light on the dash and no brake lights still, and Im not paying 551 bucks for a light failure sensor, as most vehicles don't have nor need a Failure sensor would it be best to bypass this sensor as it is prone to failure as I have read on most toyota and Lexus forums
You can bypass the sensor. I did that to my old Honda. Check to see if your brake pedal switch is broken. That can be the issue as well. Make sure there's power going thru when you press the brake pedal. It's like a momentary push button switch just above the brake pedal
@@PeterZafra dash light doesn't come on nor ever came on

I am learning now not to buy after market even if they say its OE quality. Mine was also ZAR900 and it makes the car vibrate violently even the hood shakes, I'm going to reinstal the old broken was until I can buy the OEM one. Thanks for your videos. Actually i changed all bottom three but had the biggest discomfort after installing the front one. My problem is why am i only seeing your video now😂😂
Oh yes. OEM only. All the after markets stuff is no good. You can tell with the prices. Cheers
With this, the old S500 just keeps on going. Thanks.
Yep. I still have mine Still going strong. Cheers
What did you spray it with?
Carburator cleaner.
I have the same problem but i have a cl55. Is the fuse box on the same location??
Try checking. I'm not sure. You can also join the mbz forums and I'm sure someone has dealt with this issue with your model. Cheers
I did the same thing... I made two rather good battery packs out of three mediocre ones. The leftover case i trimmed down and glued a spool onto (a small spool from a mig welder) and coiled 10 feet of twin wire onto it. I soldered the wire onto the contacts in the battery housing and the other end I fitted a cigarette lighter plug. Now I can power my drill and small circular saw using the battery in the van. Very useful and almost unlimited power available...
This is an awesome video. People like you are the reason I watch you tube video’s.

Your idle air control valve may need to be changed. Or, maybe try adjusting the throttle cable.

You can always live with a bit of noise; as long as there is no danger. But that is me.

Not sure if you know or even care, but NGK makes an advanced Ruthenium PSPE spark plug for the 5SFE that truly has been one of the best inexpensive performance upgrades to my 99 Camry I've ever done. Prior to the Rutheniums, I tried every plug under the sun with no real noticeable performance gains, but after talking directly to NGK engineers and making 4 well-watched videos with thousands of intelligent people, from tuners to engine designers, these Ruthenium plugs have been a total win. They now have been in my car for 75k miles and I have no regrets whatsoever. I'm confident in saying that Toyota would have probably made them the OEM plug had they existed in 1999. There's more to know and understand if you or anyone else is interested, I'll be happy to explain more.
Thank you I dumped over two grand in parts and you just fixed my car video. Thank you much appreciation and blessings to you.
Cheers.
Can I spray the power steering area with brake cleaner to clear the area?
Yes but don't let it sit too long. Spray, then rinse with water
my mother would like to clean the fridge. she wants to turn it off from the buttons. is that possible?
Hello. No. You would be safer by unplugging the fridge. Especially if she plans on doing a deep cleaning. It would also be good to pull the fridge forward and vacuum the dust accumulated in the back compressor area.
@@PeterZafra Thank you so much!
Help!! I have a 2012 accord with the 4-cylinder and have done this process twice to no effect. What am I doing wrong?
Just drive it normally and it will relearn that way as well.
I cleaned the throttle body and noticed that the car keeps moving at low speed without pressing on gas pedal. Any idea?
You release residual oil from the filter not pressure
