I'm pretty sure it is just meant to be Donkey Kong Senior and it is a visual thing. That's also more of a brown that is orangish. In addition in games like Donkey Kong Junior, Donkey Kong Senior's color is more of an orangish brown but it's still Donkey Kong Senior.

One question that's been bothering me is what happened to Stanley the Bugman and who the hell is he (this is both in universe and meta question he confuses me)

I think the second Mario of Donkey Kong Jr. is a coworker of Mario, of some kind. Maybe from his extended family of italian imigrates, of maybe not. It could be Luigi but I more like to think he was not involved with Mario's career until their plumbing start up project. Could be Spike, a long time co-worker of Mario, at least in the demolition site industry. But it could also be another carpenter or random italian dude that happens to help Mario to the task of keeping the construction site safe by capturing the ape with him, and also happens to looks like Mario. It's not too far-fetched to me

What if all paper mario after the 64 version is just fanfiction.

The safe way we can look at it is to call every RPG canon except Paper Jam, because it sucks. Or if we want the stupid way, the original Paper Mario did have that 4th wall breaking Bumpty. Paper Mario could actually be a brand name. Like, the paper games could be summaries of 5 more adventures that the real Mario had, but Herringway chose to make it Paper themed, changing the style and theme of the locales, and as for Paper Jam, the book could have been magicial for plot reasons, consisting how the 4th paper game did feature magic in it. So, the Paper Mario we see is just regular Mario, but translated to Paper form, and we are playing within Herringway's story. TL;DR: The Paper games are extra Mario adventures, but translated to book form by Herringway, and the Paper games are playing within the book's story.

Sticker Star could still be a second mario from the book in the mario universe that just so happens to have collected pictures of peach that fell into the book from the real world…

my thought is that the paper mario games have an unreliable narrator in the form of Penningway who allegorifies some of the more body-horror-ish elements of mario's journey (i.e. becoming a plane) into a paper representation to avoid scaring the kids who read his books.

So the game went back online and dear god..i didn’t think i wanted the beta back more than ever - Attack Decay basically doesn’t exist so there are spammers galore - If you didn’t get much of the characters from beta or are new to the game, don’t bother. Characters are extremely hard to grind out since you’re provided so little currency for them. - Rift Mode is boring as hell and feels like something that was slapped together for “Single Player Content”. - Again, no ranked mode on launch. But then again why would you WANT to play ranked with how slow the game is now? - The game is WAYYY too slow now. I’ve heard that this game was on a forced 30 frame delay which for a fighter is crucial as those type of games need the least amount of latency and lag. - Trying to play on Xbox period. Enough Said. - The blast zone seems to have shrank for the ceiling, mixing with the fact that there’s almost no attack decay and how the characters PROBABLY got stronger you could see yourself dying seconds into the match at 50%. Oh yeah i also heard from somewhere that WB or Multiversus itself that there are more marketers than programmers and coders. I’m not joking. What was that one line from that one Far Cry characte? “the definition of insanity is doing the same thing and expecting it to change”

I like this video a lot, but one thing I think you got wrong is that the bean kingdom is supposed to be right next to the mushroom kingdom.

And characters literally being made of other materials isn’t new either considering woolly Yoshi is explicitly meant to be regular Yoshi.

As a diehard Pikmin fan since Pikmin 1 this video is exactly how I feel about this game (except for the cave slander lol) Oatchi is the worst thing to ever happen to the series because he completely breaks the very mechanic that makes this game so unique. And it drives me nuts how everyone adores him despite this just because he's a cute dog! I like your idea of turning him into a bulbmin and restricting him in a way that leaves combat, carrying objects and hazards mainly to the pikmin. They weren't even needed for half the game because after enough upgrades you could do most things more easily with Oatchi instead. And I also hate that the canon got rewritten to shoehorn the dogs in. It's not even about inconsistencies of the lore at this point but for the game to just do a J.K. Rowling and go "alright now let's pretend Olimar actually had the help of a dog in the first game!" is just bad writing I'm sorry. Why even bother then to tie it to the first game at all if you have to rewrite it to somehow work? And the atmosphere of the first two games was just completely lost. The post apocalyptic earth aspect and the sense of loneliness and unfamiliarity already wasn't really there anymore in the third game but Pikmin 4 just throws it out the window by even designing a whole map as a perfectly intact house and stuffing so many characters and so much dialogue in the game. On it's own it's a fun and good game but it just doesn't feel like a pikmin game.

To me, Super Mario RPG and the Mario and Luigi series are canon to the mainline canon and Paper Mario has its own universe which was shown to be inside of a book in Paper Jam.

I hate that everyone just assumes that DK Jr is somehow the father of the modern DK, and write it on wiki pages as if it’s fact. It is pure speculation, there is absolutely no official source, misinformed or otherwise, calling DK Jr DK’s father. Sure, Cranky has been *implied* to be the original Arcade DK, and that DK’s Son is DK Jr, and he was *originally* referred to as DK’s grandfather, but even if he is, that doesn’t automatically mean that DK Jr *has* to be DK’s father, Cranky could just as easily have had a different, older son, and *he* is DK’s father. or if DK Jr *is* DK’s father, he could’ve been the DK seen in DK ‘94, and *that* games Jr is our modern DK. or of course, the most obvious answer is usually the correct one, and the character we’re told is named “Donkey Kong” who, in all most recent examples, has been called the son of the original “Donkey Kong” and showed up right as the character “Donkey Kong Jr” stopped appearing, even “replacing” him in every Mario spinoff appearance, is, in fact, Donkey Kong Jr. But all of that is still just speculation, DK Jr. has never once been confirmed to be DK or his father and it’s about time somebody changed the wikis to remove false or redacted information. Besides, every most recent appearance of Cranky calls him either DK’s father, or the vague “DK’s elder” and Nintendo most likely doesn’t even consider the “Cranky is the OG DK” bit from the original DKC to be true, they use that same bit to sorta imply that cranky in the newer DKC games is somehow the DK from the SNES games, saying things like “back in my day, WE TOOK TURNS! None of this simultaneous multiplayer malarkey!” (I’m probably paraphrasing, but I know they made that joke) they probably see it as the original design intent, which was for DKC to simply be a redesign, and Cranky a new character. That’s kinda the only way modern DK appearing alongside a child DK Jr in Mario Tennis could make sense without time travel (although, that game does have baby Mario in it…)

I remember my steam review about the beta got attacked for the same criticism, I mentioned how it focused too much on micro transactions and lack of single player content, and the fact that it's trying to be like smash Bros and should try to brush up the system. But no I guess people are okay wailing on games like this, this is why I consider these type of games shovelware

Paper Mario is both a book and a real story, book paper mario went to the next paper mario games, real paper mario went to the mario & luigi games, and he was not paper, he was just real mario.

Considering how loosey goosy the Mario series plays it's cannon to begin with if we take into account EVERY single Mario game and Spin Off ever including the RPG's, a better question would be does it really matter if the RPG's are truly cannon or not?

My feelings in short: Pikmin is still very fun, and getting Pikmin content that I haven't played yet is fun. But every change has been for the worse. It's still fun, just worse than every other Pikmin game.

Going on from the PlayStation All-Stars thing, God of War is also canon, and since Kratos was a DLC character for the PS3 version of Mortal Kombat 9, Kortal Kombat is also canon, and since Mortal Kombat characters feature as DLC in both Injustice games and in Mortal Kombat vs DC Universe, one can extrapolate that the DC multiverse is also canon to the Mario lore, which also allows for stuff like TMNT, Watchmen and Scooby Doo to be canon Thanks for coming to my TED talk
