What's happening with the Stanthorpe to Wallangarra part of the line? I've been on that section a number of times, but it was closed during the recent Apple and Grape festival.

Great pacing shots, not easy to keep the camera still in a moving car. Loved the different colours in the landscape, the contrasting colours in the grass, the trees in the background and the dull grey sky all looks fantastic. It’s great to see a British built example of this class still around , keep up the good work.

I saw this fetching green / red combo choof past at Roma St & wondered what was happening .. and how quickly she came back pointing in the other direction (Is there a turning loop out there somewhere ??) .. the photography and especially audio just deeelicious .. we can see and hear the thing beautifully and be awed by the marvel of it !! I spent two years travelling by steam train to high school and these evoke so many wonderful memories. Nothing like a steam train to bring out the nostalgia in an old bloke.

These videos bring back so many memories of the sound, sight and smell of the steam locomotives.

Another good video, hopefully this is a sign that QR might be considering going further afield than Grandchester. I don’t know why they don’t advertise these trips so the general public can travel on them, that way they could make some money which go towards the cost of the train crew. They must know a week or so out that they are going to run a trip, I for one would pay up as I think it would be a good round trip. People could start and finish the trip at the workshops.

So does this mean steam is coming back for heritage runs around Brisbane? QR seems so tight lipped compared to NSWTH!

Terrific cinematography thanks. Being originally from Toowoomba, I appreciated the sub-titles for the various locations. The crowns of the Bunya Pine trees are so iconic of the region. The carriages are very nicely presented. I regularly travelled in similar in the 1950s on my way to Newcastle via Wallangarra. The locomotive, train and operation are a credit to the dedication and expertise at SDSR.

That locomotives priming badly! They don’t want to do that too often!

You can see the water trying to get out of the closed drain cocks. That's a sick engine priming like that.

I'm sorry I can't help myself ... Priming like that is asking for trouble.. the driver didn't open the cylinder cocks and kept her flat out up the hill, not good. And having the blowdown open going over a road crossing is a big no no as well. I hope that whoever is teaching these guys, helps them to understand what it is that they're meant to be doing and more importantly.. Why they should do it. Anyone can pull and push levers, but not too many know how to do it for the smooth, safe and efficient running of the machine. I suggest all people working on boilers, read what happened to the crew on Blue Peter in England and the STEAM LOCOMOTIVE FIREBOX EXPLOSION ON THE GETTYSBURG RAILROAD NEAR GARDNERS, PENNSYLVANIA JUNE 16, 1995. Not trying to be a know it all, just trying to educate.
