    some good tips. Not what I thought it was going to be though. Considering your calling it photographers guide, maybe a few shots of some maps & a few more photos would of been nice. Still pretty good. Subbed.

    • @NationalParksArtist
      @NationalParksArtist Před 3 lety

      Thanks for the input and the sub! I've been trying to rethink these a bit. It's hard to do a whole park in one video, and to be honest it's hard for me to know in super-great detail all of each park, so I've tried to go for the 30,000 foot view. I'm thinking what I need to work on is guides for sub-sections of parks, and then be able to include more images and maps as you're requesting.

The last AF Minolta was produced in 2005, thus called Konica - Minolta at the time. The company,s camera division was bought by Sony next year, in 2006. Hope this helps...

    Hi what is your wrist size and the lug to lug length of the watch? I really love the look of the watch but I'm afraid it might be too big for my 6.75" wrist. Very close to pulling the trigger on this watch.

    • @NationalParksArtist
      @NationalParksArtist Před 7 lety

      My wrist is 6.75" or maybe just a touch larger. I do think I have one of those wrists that's a bit wider and flatter than average. I tend to be able to get away with pretty big watches if I want to. I believe the lug-to-lug for this watch is 50mm. With a not overly thick case and the fairly thin lugs I don't think if wears quite as big as its 43.5mm case size might seem.

    thanks for this video. I recently "inherited" a minolta xk/XM/X1 and srt101 with a bunch of rokkor lenses. I also currently use a Fuji X-Pro2. although I was interested in getting back into film for fun, this minolta collection I've been recently handed should certainly facilitate such an endeavor. I also started to think about adapting these lenses for use with my Fuji X-Pro2. was debating whether to go with a simple very inexpensive adapter and use with the crop factor or a speed booster and get it closer to 35mm full frame performance. I would really like the metabones one, but I'm not sure I'm prepared to spend more than the mid $400s one cost. I've seen some much less expensive speed boosters for about $70-80, but the reviews on them are mixed and leaning towards less than encouraging... either the IQ isn't all that, even in the center and/or not all rokkor lenses will work on them.. either wide angles are an issue or many can't adjust the aperture ring for some reason without some modification to the lens... I don't know?.. I'd probably try and spend the right money for the metabones cause it's probably the best.. but, for now, I think $20> for a straight plain md-fx adapter will probably do just fine.

    Love the design, but really disappointed in the choice of mov't. The Polaris GMT is roughly the same price, but has hacking/hand-winding. Two very important features for a GMT/power res watch, imo. (I'm guessing the date wheel is the problem. But, I'd take hacking/handwinding over it any day. Esp if they place the date window at the 6)

    • @NationalParksArtist
      @NationalParksArtist Před 8 lety

      I get what you're saying. For me, the lack of hacking and hand-winding isn't that big of a deal, but for some people (like yourself) it is. I prefer the world time function of the Adventurer to the GMT function of the Polaris GMT, but it's nice to have options. Orient also make the Explorer and Voyager models, which have a date wheel like the Adventurer with a Dual Time wheel that appears to function similarly to the Adventurer's world time wheel. These watches are hackable (though apparently not hand-winding) and also have signed crowns and rotors. They also cost $100 to $150 more after discount, so one is paying for the upgrades, but they are improved, and conceivable these improvements could be applied to an Adventurer-like watch. Honestly, I wouldn't be one bit surprised to see an upgraded Adventurer with all of these upgrades in the future, which would be compelling. I just got back from my first international trip with my Adventurer, so now it has history with me and I wouldn't want to "start over" with a new model, but if they do upgrade as they have with the Mako and Ray, that would be very nice.

    • @KT-nl7rp
      @KT-nl7rp Před 8 lety

      NationalParksArtist Did not know about the Voyager/Explorer. Anyway, I can't disagree. But, it's a personal disappointment. Like you say, many people don't mind (usually people with heaps of quality watches already, or people new to watches who don't sweat the technicalities). The Mako USA 2 is an instant buy for me. In house Jp mov't with hacking/hand-winding AND day/date, for under $250USD? I'm sold.

      +R. K. Vis Yes. There may be other deals out there as well, but they give discount codes for various promotions through their e-mail newsletter all the time. For instance, I got mine 40% off during a Valentines Day promotion I saw on their e-mail. In November they had a 50% off special.

    Thanks a lot for the review. I want to buy this watch, but would like to see a review first, and this is the only review I could find. For sub-U$500 watch, I think this is a really nice piece. Thanks again!

    I agree with your review of the terrific Fuji X-E1. I just bought one new on eBay for $287 with free shipping from a very reputable site in Hong Kong. I received the camera in four days which I thought was amazing. I wanted a second body as a companion to my X-Pro1. The X-E1 is its little brother and coming from an XP1, it took no time at all to set up the X-E1. I use the wonderful Fuji 14 2.8 and 35 f2 on it and it produces great IQ. The X-E1 is the best deal going now, a fantastic bargain for an excellent camera.
