Channel Announcement - I've got a lot of explaining to do...
So yeah, as per the title, there's some things that need explaining!
I've not had much time to edit any more footage of the Capri build diary, but all will become clear in this little update!
As mentioned in the video, I'm now a full-time self-employed graphic designer, so if you're looking for some badass design work just give me a shout. I'm always on the hunt for awesome new projects.

MageRift Title Reveal
zhlédnutí 64Před 7 lety
Wrecko Studios needed an epic brand for their epic RPG MageRift, a game set in a world where magic reigns supreme. Along with the logo and icon I created, I wanted to put together a quick title reveal to help bring the new brand to life. Once in a while a project comes up that calls for the kind of work that you've been itching to work on and gets you incredibly excited. One such project is Mag...
1985 Ford Capri - WTF Bike Carb Instal?! - Diary Pt 4
zhlédnutí 3,9KPřed 8 lety
Not quite happy with the way things were running on the newly rebuilt bike carbs, I decided to take a look at the float and needle heights, as well as taking a proper look at the idle mixtures with a Gunson Colortune to get things running smoother. Little did I know, the carbs weren't my only headache... As before, this was filmed in February, so if you'd like to keep up-to-date just head over ...
1985 Ford Capri - DIY Bike Carb Instal - Diary Pt 3
zhlédnutí 14KPřed 8 lety
This time I have a break from welding and take a look at a fresh set of YZF600r bike carbs, then go over of how I instaled them onto the 2.0 Pinto in my Capri and try to get it running again. This was filmed in February, but if you'd like to keep more up-to-date just head over to my Instagram page below. victoryoverall.co.uk victory_over_all retrorides.proboards.com/thread/110837 ...
1985 Ford Capri - Welding Begins - Diary Pt 2
zhlédnutí 986Před 8 lety
In this second entry of my build diary I attempt to weld in some repair panels, with varying degrees of success. As with the previous video, this was recorded some time ago, and more progress has been made since. More videos are on their way soon, I promise! You can keep more-or-less up to date with progress on Instagram. victoryoverall.co.uk victory_over_all retrorides.proboards....
1985 Ford Capri - The Resurrection - Diary Pt 1
zhlédnutí 716Před 8 lety
Hopefully the first of many, this diary entry is an introduction to my '85 Ford Capri and the work done on it so far. The car has been off the road for a the best part of a year and is currently in the process of being resurrected. This was actually filmed at the end of December 2015, and more progress has been made and filmed since. I'll be posting more videos soon to catch up with where I'm a...
1985 Capri 2.0 - Running after cylinder head rebuild
zhlédnutí 484Před 9 lety
After having issues with both the cylinder head and bike carbs on my 85 Ford Capri, I decided it was time to build up a new head and overhaul the carbs. The 2.0 Pinto now has an unleaded head with a Newman PH2 camshaft and some mild porting. The carbs are from a YZF600r, using the standard 155 main jets. Had issues getting it to idle without choke, which was due to the pilot jets needing a good...
1985 Capri 2.0 - YZF600r Bike Carb Test
zhlédnutí 2,9KPřed 11 lety
A short video of me taking my Capri out for a spin to test out the newly fitted bike carbs. The carbs are from a '98 Yamaha Thundercat YZF600r, still with the standard main jets (155), standard needles (although they're raised 2.5mm with small washers), idle mixture screws turned out 2 ¾ turns and the air correctors blocked with matchsticks (hey, they work!). The carbs are fed with the standard...

    Bang up install, is that a SOHC 2000 or 2300? I have a fuel injected 2300 in a 1995 US Ford Ranger and I'm absolutely done with chasing sensor issues and I haven't decided if I'm going to use a single 2 venturi downdraft or 4 sidedrafts..

    Do I need to fabricate a new throttle cable to run a bike carb or not? Also do I have to use a bike fuel filter or can I just use my stock filter? Car is a Peugeot 106 by the way

    • @VictoryOverAll
      @VictoryOverAll Před 5 lety

      I'm not at all familiar with the Peugeot 106, but I'll try to help as best I can! Throttle cable depends on whether the end of your original one will reach the spot where it needs to attach to your bike carbs. You'll likely need to use what's called a "solderless nipple" which fixes to the end of the throttle cable and allows it to attach to the carbs. You can often find bike carb throttle kits if your original isn't suitable. Original fuel filter will be fine, however it's the fuel pump you need to worry about. You need to have low fuel pressure, around 3psi. This can be achieved with a fuel pressure regulator. I use a Malpassi Filter King, which has a built in filter, but you can get them without. The problem is, even at the right pressure some fuel pumps can flood the carbs, in which case you might need to fit the little electric fuel pump from the same type of bike. I'm by no means an expert, but I hope that helps!

      I'll be back! I still have the car, but it's still on Anglesey. Got it MOT'd in December and will be bringing it over to France in April. Work and other projects have taken priority for now, but I'm hoping to have edited the rest of the build diary footage by then... Don't hold your breath though!

    what did you use for throttle cable

    • @VictoryOverAll
      @VictoryOverAll Před 6 lety

      justin magana I actually used a bicycle brake cable cut to length. I cut the "nipple" off one end, leaving one to attach to the pedal, threaded it through the original cable sheath from inside the car, then on the carb side I used a "solderless nipple" to attach it to the carbs. If the original cable is long enough you could get away with just attaching a solderless nipple to the carb side. With the choke/fuel enrichment cable I just bought an off-the-shelf one meant for a car and fitted that in a similar way with another solderless nipple on the carb side. Lots of talk of nipples, but it's less fun than it sounds!

    HI. Hope this is not a daft question... Did you have to upgrade the fuel pump when you put on the bike carbs and if you did what fuel pump did you use? I'm assuming that you don't need quite the pressure that a fuel injection system requires!

    • @VictoryOverAll
      @VictoryOverAll Před 7 lety

      Not a daft question at all! There's a lot of debate about what's best to use, but I kept the original mechanical fuel pump and fitted a fuel regulator set to about 1.5psi. Bike carbs need no more than 3psi of fuel pressure, and ideally about 1.5psi. Most people suggest fitting an electric pump from the same model bike that the carbs came from, or at least an electric pump that supplies a fairly low pressure. The Pinto fuel pump with a regulator between the pump and carbs is fine, but on another engine I'm not sure how the mechanical pump would manage. To be on the safe side I'd say look for a fuel pump from a bike. Obviously if you were going for bike throttle bodies with fuel injection it's a completely different ballgame... which I know nothing about!

      Thanks for getting back to me so quickly... much appreciated. Just starting into a kit car build and its a big learning curve so thank you for setting me in the right direction on at least this issue.

      The carb sets I've bought came from 1998 Thundercats, but I'm pretty sure they used the same carbs from '96 to '03. You can find useful info about different bike models and the carbs they use here www.motorcyclespecs.co.za/bikes/Yamaha%209.htm
