Hi I’m Chris, I started this channel because there was no information out there on the New Holland Workmaster 75 back in early 2019. I decided to post a walk around of the tractor and received more than expected views and questions on the tractor. So I decided to continue making videos as a source for anyone to learn more about the tractor and anything Ag related

A service bulletin came out from Massey regarding the def fluid sensor. If you continue to have the def issue the dealer should come out to replace the sensor. My 4710 had the same issue and after the sensor was replaced I have not had the issue. I was told the tolerances on the sensor were changed. What speed do you bale at and what type of bailer.
Good to know thank you. New Holland RB450U Between 4 and 8mph
How long is your 3x3 square tubing were your bale spears are on? And how do you know we’re to put your bottom brackets to hook up to your bottom 3 point arms?
Very impressive, didn't know a 100hp tractor could that.
you got screwed more like 14000 bales
Think so?
Very helpful and fixed. Thank you very much and save our cost for dealership repair. My brother in law planning to send service. I did not want to send and wanted to fix asap for farm hays working. Thank you!!!
Man we’ve both came a long ways since our Workmaster! Started following you then, Workmaster 75 and a John Deere 430, now a T5 100 and a Kuhn 2160
Yes sir we have!
Do you mind sharing where you found the used TM1200 at that price id love to buy a new one but 52k is tough to do right now. Thanks
I found it out of Nebraska from a dealer. It is a 2013 model
Holy smoke your flyin
Hi Chris ... Always awesome to see a new video from you! I've never been able to put my finger why, but there is something mesmerizing about videos of a hay train raking and rolling round bales ... That was an awesome sequence you posted. And thanks for all the info. Regarding def fluid, my NH had a defective def fluid sensor that the dealer replaced. It got progressively worse until the tractor wouldn't even start! Since then I never store def above 70 degrees, and I only buy def fluid that has been manufactured in the last 6 months. Blue def is the only brand I can find that publishes its manufacture date (albeit you have to decipher the code). I haven't had problems since.
If you haven't already had it done, ask your dealer to do the update to the a/c system. It is a major change in the way the air circulates. I believe they tested it in 2021 and was released shortly after. My neighbor had his 4710 done with the test kit and it seemed to help, but he ended up trading it before the hottest part of the summer. I have been running a TM1200 since 2019 and it has been a great machine. It has only needed two repairs. The needle fell off the pressure gauge last fall and the heim joints failed on the transport lift cylinder. I believe that to be directly related to carrying the mower in the up position a bit more than what was intended. The red transport bar is essential. Enjoy watching your videos. I'm not sure why I like to watch folks cut hay when I'm not cutting hay, but I do!
Really Nice video! Thanks for the tips and replacement procedures also website info. Really my biggest complaint with Vermeer is, not enough or absents of grease fittings! I’ve added many grease fittings to my Vermeer 604N, the VR 1222 rake, I need to add some on the TM 800 mower, around the main pivot pin. Happy Harvesting 😊
Nice baler setup! Never seen one with a rake. I also tested our tm1400 i have jd 6420 with 120hp no problem even in thick grass, i can drive 12-15km/h. Our fields are just way smaller than yours :D
That's a really nice setup, Chris.
There's a valve right under the cab at the front on the passenger side that cuts the hot water from circulating through the air conditioning if you didn't already know about it, it seems to help
Thank you
I’ve had a few def quality warnings on mine also it’s only been with the peak brand blue def, I don’t buy it anymore.
Probably an old batch that expired... that brand is EXPENSIVE. All government juice needs to be the same makeup of urea to water or it will throw a fit. Cheap or expensive, it should all be the same... biggest is how long has it been sitting on the shelf and if in a hot or cool environment.
@@farming4g I agree it should all be the same and I thought old on the shelf too. This was a couple years ago when def was doing its supply shortage. Kinda funny the first time I had an error it was with the peak platinum stupid expensive stuff haha. At least 5 different jugs of peak gave me an error for quality. 1200 hrs later never a problem with any other brand. So there’s something to it, maybe it’s just the price point keeps it on the shelf longer.
Man I’ve been looking at the tm1200. To me that’s the sucky part is having to mow. I have a 9’ Kuhn and the tm1200 would almost cut my time in half. My Vermeer plugs every once in awhile. I replaced the pickup teeth and that helped but it will do it on long stem grass like Johnson grass because it tends hang on the hay saver wheels. I’m about ready to go to a wide pickup baler.
It’s a whole new game going to a wider cut. It really does cut your time down tremendously. I hear ya on the baler. I have the same issues with the New Holland
I have said it before but I'll say it again, It's always a treat to see a new video from you! I would have never have dreamed the 4710 would pull that cutter in economy PTO. Whats the reason for running it in EPTO? I would think that is just putting more load on the tractor and that's why the coolant temp is getting that hot? I have never seen mine get to the hash mark just to the left of the half way hash pulling a 12' bat wing. I feel between that cutter and then running the baler with the rake you need a bigger tractor possibly? Maybe a 6712 or 6713? I had a couple issues on my 4710 with the same DEF quality code and noticed it was only when I filled the tank up completely full, up into the filler neck full. I quit doing that and have't had that code come back in almost 2 years ago. I know after treatment systems inside and out and it doesn't make sense to me. Coincidence? Possibly but it might be worth a shot.
Yeah I’d love to get into a bigger tractor but I’m just not there yet. I really need to add a second tractor which was my goal this year but I had to go a different route. I run the 4710 in Economy because it’s better on fuel. It runs about 1500 rpm’s vs 2000. Temps seem to be the same in normal vs eco. I’ve gotten in to some really thick grass this year and the economy couldn’t handle it. My current bale count is 963 rolled on about 200 acres and the 4710/Tm1200 has cut every bit of it.
How do you keep things clean changing oil filter with it upside down. Is there a special way to remove. It's easy to access, only old oil in filter will pour out onto side of engine. Thanks for video and maintenance information l
You really can’t
Looking at one of these wanted to see how yours is doing any issues? Thanks
Looking at a 75 work master your thoughts? Thanks
What’s the total length from hitch to rear hookup??
Around 21’ but I’ll have to put a tape on it in the morning to confirm
@@CenTexAg I would greatly appreciate it that!! Considering building/buying one put want to know if it will fit on my trailer hooked my M7-152 Kubota
@@CenTexAg you ever get a chance to put a tape measure on that hay train?
It is 21’ from hitch to hitch
Thanks for the info. Enjoyed it
Did you have a paint code for the yellow paint?
Van Sickle 468 New Cat Yellow. I forgot to mention it in the video
Did you re seal the motors on that r23a? Mines leaking and I’m wondering how hard it’s gonna be.
I did reseal them. It’s not hard, just take your time and pull them apart slowly. There are pistons and bushings on the back side that will fall out if you just rip it apart. The Allen screws holding the front adapter plate were stripped on mine also but I managed to get them out with an extractor. Also make sure you keep everything very clean when you reassemble.
I know you don't have this tractor anymore but I've got the Case 75A equivalent. You said you swap the hoses for the attachment to float with the green handle/ports. This is my first tractor with dual rear ports. Do you think my Case green ports is like this? I'm only used to the single rear ports on tractors and now learning what I can do with this extra set of ports. Thanks.
Yes the case should be identical to the new holland other than the paint colors
The loader being higher allows the view along the front wheels to be much better though.
I just bought the same tractor two days ago...Thanks for the heads up.
Thank you. New Holland should pay you to explain how to use their equipment because they clearly don't themselves care about their customers. The information from New Holland is totally inadequate. Also there is no operators manual available on line, furthermore ALL service manuals and operator manuals should be available from the manufacturer online for FREE.
100% agreed! All manuals should be available for free online
Thanks for sharing your your work. I have a 600 and by watching your video my winter project is to rebuild the cutting bar on my machine. The blades on the unit next to the drive unit are hitting literally trashed a new set of blades. The turtle on that unit has lots of play in it where it wasn’t torque down properly.
I've got a 4710 its a 2017 I've had def issues for the last 2 years I'm getting ready to head to the dealer about 100 mi away to have some codes cleared I don't know if I'm going to keep this tractor or not but they sure are a pain in the butt.
Yeah it sucks getting a warning light out of nowhere. Check out gpt-consulting.com They help with the DEF system ;)
@CenTexAg I have been looking at this model for a while now. I know you have since traded your Workmaster in for a Massey Ferguson. Would you recommend the Workmaster or not?
If I were in the market again for an economy tractor I would buy the Workmaster again
Cris , a little tip for ya. That ep 0 grease your putting in those pofs is supose to come up to the bottom of the cross shaft, 3.4 oz. Heat that stuff up with hot water so it poors and you'll get a more acurate fill. Over fill causes heat.
Great info! Thank you
Okay now i got the machine. My lifting system ball joint was shot. You can see it 2:30 under red lock bar. i can't believe there is not grease point there. There is huge stress to that joint. I would put at least some oil there "daily". Also both lift cylinder ends was welded, some one said here that these ends are aluminium, but in my machine those are cast iron. Other wise it was in good condition. I can see why they put those dually wheels, it jumps very easily with singles
i also wonder why there is no wear skis stock. our smaller machine have them. i might order those if they dont cost much
My manual shows a serial break in 2013 and I wanna say the early 2013 year models had the cast iron ends. Are your lift cylinders painted yellow? I did buy a spare ball joint for when mine breaks. Also, mine did not come with skid shoes either. It’s apparently an option but they are cheaper than replacing rock guards.
@@CenTexAg 2012. black cylinder. im not sure are those replased at some point.
Today i replaced that main lift link upper bush/ball joint, it was a fairly easy job. But how do you supposed to change grease to those "first" cutting rotors? the manual didn't help with that.
The first two rotors are the drive pods. The manual calls them “drive elements”. They don’t take grease, they take gear oil. There’s a drain plug and you just drain and fill
Thanks! add also "tm1400" so more peoples will see this video. im going to pick up one tomorrow. We have smaller vermeer 40 serie mower it is 2004 and it has been very good machine. But will see how those bigger ones will last.
Great idea
You will love the 1400!
Why would the teeth rub on the spacers between turtles on start up and shut down I don't believe mine hit a working rpm no play in turtles new blades and pins
Great video, had the same problem on my 2012 T4.75. Saved a bunch of money not having to have service call. It acted wierd, would not shut off, but setting over nite would disingage, next day turn key on and off and would start. Did this for about 3 days, sure enough the cable had slipped out. The sleeve was rotated in a position that bolts were hard to get to. Thanks
Nice set up by the way.
I've had many days I couldn't rake because the wind blew the windrows away
Chris I just got my 2024 4710 and I have 540/1000 pto. Was your tractor only ordered with 540? Idk what is different but mine came with a 1000 pto shaft and our ford 9600 is same way you just swap out pto shaft for whatever implement your running. I’m assuming gear box is different but idk, when you said that it really surprised me! Thanks for another good video!
My tractor was order with the 540/540E option. The dealer at the time did not have the 540/1000 optioned tractor in stock and I thought I would never need 1000 pto. If I could go back I would have waited for the 540/1000 optioned tractor.
@@CenTexAg ah yes that makes sense Chris! I forgot they have that option and yes I don’t blame you for wanting the 540/1000 because now your future implement purchases are narrowed to 540 or do what you did with cutter!
Thanks for the detailed video Chris. I have the exact same mower with quite a bit less wear on it but its nice to see what I will most likely need to do in the future. I have been into the cutter modules a couple of times so I was familiar with most of that but not the other things you did. I will tell you I have found the most annoying thing about this mower is the fact that those four little bolts that hold the bearing & gear into the module is the weak point on this cutter. If you hit any obstruction of any size, dirt clod, rock or anything like that it will pull those four little bolts right out of the hub and completely ruin the module. Speaking from experience... The only other issue Iv had with mine is the aluminum ends on each end of the lift cylinder will break off so I strongly advise you to have a spare end on hand. Other than that I really love the mobility and ability this mower has in transport getting into small gates and then having such a wide cutting width to shorten the time in the field. It does a good clean job cutting as well.
Great point on the lift cylinder ends! I will for sure get some on hand now. Luckily I have not had an issue with the 4 bolts being pulled out on my tm700 in the past 4 yrs but I think it’s a matter of “not if but when”. Thanks for the heads up!!
Great video Chris. Nice that you point out the spots to look for. That mower comes out looking great. Look forward to seeing you cut some hay.
Your repair confirmed my thoughts on how the power is transfered down the cutter bar..... The Cutter bar power transfer changes from vertical to horizontal to vertical back to horizontal at each turtle, using bevel gears, shafts and spacers each requiring correct clearance.... Our cutters or going on 7 years without any maint other than blades and grease.... Bar has gear oil from factory.... never had to add
You must be running Krone cutters? There are slim choices finding a cutter that cuts at 15’+ feet but can go through an 8’ gate and only require 85 pto hp.
Our first Cutter was a Kuhn We sold it at the end of the first Year and bought the first Easy-cut 320 (10"3" cut, We now have 3 all mounted on KMC 4760 carts and a 3200 trail...... We have a J D 8200 that doesn't have a job since we ceased row cropping and my Son is comtemplating a Front Mount and the right and left rear mounted disc mowers..... Rather than running 4 units....
Awesome rake
Good looking rig man!
Looks good, Chris. You did a nice job on the repairs. For a 40 year old machine, it looks brand new.
Thanks you Chris for a new video! Appreciate it sir please keep them coming!
Also that cutter is badass! What is it I’m assuming Vermeer ???
Yes sir
@@CenTexAg when I was asking about the cutter I meant Vermeer what? (???) it looks badass I have a Kuhn fc 343rgc center pivot moco to start out on this year
Ohhh Tm1200
@@CenTexAg one last question Chris, do you feel like the 4710 has enough power to handle that bigger mower? My dealer is family owned and we have known him for years and he told me my big 13ft cutter it probably wouldn’t handle it well especially in heavy hay so I’m thinking if I have some issues I might get it tuned. Now this is emissions equipped tuning not missing parts tuning but it does help even DLH farms has shown this, do you plan to do yours with that bigger cutter? I think I’m going to because the two tuners I’ve talked with said they have had no issues with the tractors they have tuned getting warranty work done and from what I’ve seen they can’t even tell the ecm has been flashed (flash counter) like a pickup ecm does show. Maybe bigger nicer model tractors ecm’s are that advanced like a pickup but 4710’s for sure do not record flashes. With this tuner I’ve talked with you get to keep your stock file too if you need to flash it back but he can safely tune it up to 120-5hp he stated but I might ask for 130hp tune. He also with write several tunes for you so you have 3 or more tunes with different power increments.
Good to see another video from you! I am just like you, I would rather rebuild older equipment than buy some of the new stuff. Glad to hear the Massey is still doing good. I need to get my windows tinted but The first place I called said about $3500! Keep the videos coming please and I hope you have a great season this year.
How much did it run for the tinting and did they remove the windows to do it? I'm fixing to do the same thing to my Massey 4710
It was $400 for 20% and they came out to the house to do it. Yes all the doors, side windows and rear glass were removed and all the handles/hinges were removed off the glass. I helped them with that part and it really wasn’t that bad. Just have to be careful when putting it back together and not over tightening any bolts and shattering the glass
Saves my bad back
Any knew updates or just any videos to upload Chris? Miss the content!
I do. The rake is complete and I picked up another hay cutter I’m going thew
@@CenTexAg post up some videos brotha! I’m itching to get my first year of hay cutting under way here in southern Indiana!
