Our forests need bears

Wow, that bear was showing all kinds of aggressive predatory signs, from the time he turned to you. He was hungry and you were on the menu! You are really stupid and very lucky he decided to back down. I love how people on here that think that bear was just curious, like Whinny-the-Poo, and not a predator that was looking for an easy meal.

Question: If you were hunting Bear why were you not taking a shot at this one, was it too small or was it female? Question 2: If you were not interested in hunting this bear then why didn't you let the bear know you were up in that tree and that you were a human and not another bear?

This bear was too curious and even stalking you. He smelled where you had walked around and followed the scent to the tree. Realizing you were up there, he pursued you - TWICE. Probably a large boar. Not many things scare them, but he should have more fear of a human than that. I know you were probably hunting white tail, not interested in the bear, but I might have shot it anyway since it had too much aggressive tendencies. What if you were on the ground like a hiker? I hike deep woods and bring a .44 mag with proper ammunition for such encounters and had it been me hiking - I'd have 100% shot that bear. I bet it was somewhere between 350-400 lbs. Large black bear - many hunters would think it a good score, I'd have counted it good to survive unscathed. Be safe out there.

Think I'd call it a day after that

Nothing scarier than being bluff charged or swatted at by a bear. Nothing.

If a bear is chomping, yawning and making sounds that means it's afraid or agrivated. If a bear is quiet and stealthy that means it is in predatory mode. You are very blessed that this bear did not lunge in for a bite. Looks like it was a juvenile who hasn't been taught that people are not food/good. Best to have given yourself away to the Forrest and blasted that bear with an air horn to let him know that humans are not safe to be near.

That evil Bear would had chewed on you if it thought it was not such a cowardly bear. next time shoot that ugly Boar. Gees that would had made me blank my you know what. I love Bears don't get me wrong and especially Grizzly and the great intelligents they carry. Cubs nursing thier Mother sows. a 15 years old boar Grizzly or sow Protecting thier elk catch garding it by sleeping on it. lol but this bear is down right wanting to eat you or simply want you gone. More people are being killed by these and the loved ones only get a dead bear out of loss of siblings.

A dose of bear spray would have been educational.

Just a good idea to have bear spray. Black bears are usually not agressive, but just like humans they could be having a bad hair day.

Too close for comfort if you ask me.

Face to face with a predatory black bear. Look at its eyes at 1:40 and 2:33 - it wants to hurt you (read: eat). Yet, people will still claim that all black bears are timid, unless it’s a sow with cubs.

Two big brown bears crossed my path about 3 foot away ! Awesome, heart stopping moment ! No time for fear ! Nature is like that, sudden surprise appearances between low profile of miles of forest and bracken and silence ! Then wham ! There she is, in your face wild and wonderful !

The bear was way to aggressive, I would of put an arrow in its neck.

Had a couple black bears in my yard yesterday and I told them to get and they put their heads down in submission like scared dogs. It's hard to predict them though. Sometimes things piss them off too. They're super curious creatures.

That dude was lucky. Because that bear could've been all over him in that tree in a split second. I didn't see a gun aimed at the bear, although I'm sure the guy was armed. But still, he better be more ready than he appeared to be in this footage. If that had been ME in that stand, you would've definitely saw my firearm already aimed at that sucker to shoot it in the head in a nano second........if need be. If you don't already have your firearm pointed & ready to shoot, that bear could be on you faster than you could react.
