He wasn’t completely talentless but he was a stupid young kid who took the wrong drug.
Well, by most accounts, he invented the pogo to begin with, while he was just a fan before he joined the band. I actually don't think he was that bad a singer. I read that he was considered as a singer for a couple of bands, before and after the Pistols. And from the assessments I've read from those who were around him, in the end he became a fair bass player. He had the look, the attitude, a presence and a charisma. He probably could've been great. RIP young prince of punk.
