    Hi buddy nice job love your explaining. How do you workout the limb drawing? Do you draw from fadeouts to tips orgo parrallelfor few inches after fadeouts then go too tips or 9 to 10 inches from tip Why I ask it makes limb stronger if there is still lot of material on limb.

    Hey man so I’m building my first laminated recurve normally build self bows I was wondering if you could help me with a limb recipe for say a 55 60 lb or so I have bamboo flats and .05 and 0.04 glass for back and belly the bamboo is @1 mm thick all is 1.75 wide if you get time please let me know can’t seem to get a straight answer from anybody and I know people don’t gas every single time they make a bowl there must be some information on I’m making a 60 pound bowl. This is what I need but I can’t seem to find it anyway have a good day and thanks a lot for your videos, I like the attention to detail. Just wish I had the patience lol.

      @travisjorgensen7890 Před 4 měsíci

      The bamboo is parallel not tapered? What thickness is it?

    • @user-zg1zl9xx4t
      @user-zg1zl9xx4t Před 4 měsíci

      1mm I have some extra I was going to try to taper if it’s better

    • @travisjorgensen7890
      @travisjorgensen7890 Před 4 měsíci

      All the variables matter. So it is trial and error until you figure it out from your records. The length, width and mold will affect the results. I think you’re close with what you’ve listed. I would taper the bamboo, cut the limbs down the 1-1/2” width (after it’s glued up). If you want it shorter than 60”, it will probably be too heavy.

    I have read several times that there is not much difference between the ..32 and .380. Therefore, I alternate between two of my carry weapons, a Seecamp .32 and Ruger LCP .380. p.s. waiting for a new small frame 9 millimeter to arrive. That gun will be added to the mix.

  • @charlesgarzon9401
    @charlesgarzon9401 Před 9 měsíci

    S-glass compositr would make a great bow composite. It is by volume the strongest material (it is just a little heavier than carbon fiber). You also have higher elasticity, would be interesting to see what that would do to a bow. But yeah weight in general would change the power more significantly -- energy in, energy out. Carbon fiber is just light and stiff for a material.

    Anybody that thinks small calibers can't stop a person or eliminate them is just bias due to whatever firearm they currently own. Bullets kill. Simple as that.

    This is s typical hunt for 80 percent of hunters. Good see one that gives and honest preview of what its like for most public land hunters on foot. Most video's on youtube are not realistic of what most hunters face. You guys had a realistic hunt of what most people experience elk hunting in Montana on public land.

  • @brandonholsather2171

    The 9 mm has taken big bucks out 30 yards and taken them down within 1st minute with a double lung shot. The 9 mm can make pass through big bucks chest with ease. I mean there is videos of troghpy bucks taken out with 9 mm of course it's close range but still shows 9 mm is super powerful. I could not see a 32 acp or 380 doing that kinda damage in single shot to deers chest cavity in single shot or taking it down quickly. The whitetail buck that is.

    My 4 carry guns nowadays ..Ruger lc9sPRO 9mm -10%of the time .. the other 70 % I carry..my Taurus TCP .380 loaded with Corbon DPX .all copper hollows ..or my 11oz Smith & Wesson 342 air light centennial .TI (titanium cylinder) .38 sp .HST .+p.38 130 gr... Both in my right hand jeans pocket and a DeSantis Superfly pocket holster.. the other 20% of the time when I'm wearing lightweight shorts or lightweight dress pants is my Kel-Tec p32..GEN #1 ... Extremely reliable and accurate up to 50 ft...7oz unloaded .. this gun I could clip to the waistband of my tighty whitey bvds if I wanted to walking around the house 🤣🤣.. I recommend FMJ hardball 32.. as you do not want the rim lock problem you get with shorter hollow points and you want penetration

    I guess you have to think if a 32 hollow point goes thru rib and stops at 4 inches inside any part of a body your going down thats probably around 100 lbs of energy that is a good home defense round. no over penatration thats my two cents.

  • @techjunkie3916
    @techjunkie3916 Před rokem

    From the experience I've had. Ball rounds are the way to go with the smaller calibers. Less snag points when feeding due to non over penetrating, when shot placement is used...if there is time to place your shot.

    • @DomRivers67
      @DomRivers67 Před rokem

      Shooting them in the little finger or earlobe with a 45 isn't going to somehow be better than a 32, so shot placement is no more or less important with either calibre One shot, centre mass, at personal defense range, with a 32....will do it, and more besides Probably the most popular calibre with military officers and police of the last 100 years. Of course, everyone is a tactical John Wick these days, and need at least 13 rounds of 380 to...I dunno, take on Yakuza in a dramatically lit bath house?....or some crap. Get shot in the big toe with a 22 short and you'll lose interest in someones wallet tbh lol

    • @techjunkie3916
      @techjunkie3916 Před rokem

      @@DomRivers67 But you still proved my point. Shot placement. Center mass. Still shot placement. A bullet is a bullet. True. But the caliber and area of entry does make a difference. No argument here. And who said little finger or earlobe? Lmao! If someone chose those they already lost the battle of wit. Now if it's your only available target then you have to do what you have to do.

      I would go east from Paradise Campground. There are a lot of bears there. I you could make it to the tops of the mountains in that area, you could run into elk. I saw some decent sign that was a few weeks old. In wooded areas up high. The mountains are not very tall in the area to the east.

      Not hard to find out. Shoot it through a chronograph and post a video of. If you really want to be accurate, use a release. That’s what I should have done (I have a video comparing limb types). Or at least use a clicker.
