My cdl trainer was an over the road trucker years ago. He had a story about driving through Texas late at night, nobody else on the road. All of the sudden, he saw headlights miles behind him in his mirror. Someone comes over the radio: "Westbound 20, stay outta the left lane. We a comin." A few minutes later, 5 bull haulers pass him going 90+ mph. Just as fast as they rolled up, they were out of sight. "You don't mess with bull haulers," he said.

That flat top is a nice ride for sure! I hauled for C.B. Hodge out of Saledo,Tx in the early 80’s. Loved hauling cows, but a brain tumor sidelined me so I reminisce while watching videos like this. Thanks for posting!

Look up the CZcams video “bull haulers not playing around Arizona bound”, you’ll see this truck leading 3 others westbound across Texas. It looks to me like they’re going thru Sierra Blanca but I’m not sure. Anyway, this brings back memories of my first real driving job back in the late 60s, I worked for a man out of Roosevelt, Utah who had cow trailers and crude oil tanks, we’d work year round doing one or the other. I went on to other jobs when I moved from there, but I’m sure as the day is long that my bull hauling days were the best of them all. I know it made me a better driver and gave me a lot of tolerance for the really long days and nights on the road. I’m in my late 70s now, retired, but still see a nice looking “hood” going down the road and sure do miss it.
