Sight Fishing in the HOT Louisiana Marsh

After a cold front had just blown through we headed out knowing conditions would be tough and the fishing would be tougher. While covering 55 miles, the rat reds were out in full force while the keeper reds were extremely tough to find.

Noticed you use hi-vis line. Do you also use a leader? Or, are the fish not shy about the hi-vis line?
As long as you have a nice sized (24”+) fluorocarbon leader on there you should be fine. I was trying to avoid using hi-vis but that was the only braid available when I bought that SLX DC reel (which I highly recommended). I find it better than the more expensive Curado DC.
