Correction: At first I thought it was the front chainring locking up but the video shows he was still in the big ring. Top of the chain was bouncing like crazy when his left foot went down. Looks like the chain slipped the cassette, locked up, his feet reversed direction (you can see his feet were past vertical, then went backwards which caused the top chain to drop to the bottom chain and the rear derailleur to move all the way forward, try it, hold your cassette and reverse the pedals) and his forward momentum just pulled the bike over.

This is the problem with disc brakes

Something happened with his chain. He did everything right. Held onto the bike and landed on his back. He minimized the damage for sure.

You’re not supposed to use “go big or go home” on the road bike.

That's about the worst bike handling I've seen, master by age, obviously not experience. Learn how to sprint in a straight line, Fred.

Seems to be the chain coming off of the smallest cog and jammed in between the cassette and chain stay. Rider might be shifting while the chain is under full load. Not sure whether the oversized pulley or gearing index issue played any role in this. I guess the lesson is shift before you sprint full gas.

It looks like drivetrain issues that causing this crash.

I know it's a practice race but if I were the Cadence rider in that finish, I'd be having a little chat with the sketchy rider in white, who went from the center of the road all the way to the right by the line.....just sayin. No need for that nonsense....win with your legs

Wow! That looked like a classic high-side on a motorcycle. He was leaning the bike back and forth and gave a good amount of torque with the wheels out of line. Almost admirable to produce that much power! Hope he’s okay!

Geeezus - I flinched outta my seat at 28:36! I've been seeing that happen more often when in a sprint the guy's knee taps his handlebars and sends him over the top. Nice 1100W at the end.
