DIY Broken car visor fix for less than $1 and in under 2 minutes
My 2009 Hyundai Elantra has a poor design flaw and both driver and passenger sun shade visors have broken. They kept falling down and wouldn't stay put, so I first tried super gluing it back together, but nothing worked until I tried using a zip tie. Using a simple zip tie you can easily fix it. The zip tie I used was a little short but it still worked.

This video shows you how to rebuild or assemble the choke lever kit for a Polaris RMK 700 snowmobile. How to repair or fix the choke cable and save yourself money. Don't buy the $60 cable when it's likely a $4 fix. DIY FTW
2010 Accent passenger--Perfect! Exactly what I was looking for here on CZcams. Thank you for posting!!!
Beeeeutiful…..😂
Butcher job lol
Awesome! Appreciate the tip!
I found your video and was able to use your strategy with a ziptie on my 98 sienna. Thank you!!
Thanls again for posting this video. The ziptie repair is holding perfectly.
Thank you!! Worked for my Subaru Impreza. 👍
imma try this tomorrow thanks
😂😂
Thanks Joe, worked perfectly for my 2007 Santa Fe SE. Great idea.. Saved me some money. Keep up the good work.
Yeah but can you unclip it and move it into the side position?
Just did this on my broken Subaru shield- you can move it over, but it’s loose on the side. I could put some Velcro maybe to have it stick in that position.
Worked great on my wife’s 2009 Kia Borrego. Although the swing out option was a fail. No biggie - passenger will just have to refrain from the swing out. Thanks!!
Hillbilly fix, but it works so who cares!
Thank you for your awesome fix. It worked perfectly in our car.
that's a great idea sir tq for the video
THANK YOU 😊
it keeps loosening the zip tie. I guess I will look for industrial strength zip tie.
hey Gotdam it u just saved me $25 that problem been killin my nerves kudos to you my guy
Worked like a charm on both driver and passenger sides of my 2008 ! THANKS...! ! !
You mean I could have fixed my sun visor 5 years ago but I never found this video?! Gotta be kidding me. Thank you so much! Lol
Lol
Thank you
THIS IS GENIUS! Thank You!
Genius!
Should have used jb weld on it
Borderline genius!
The EXACT situation here...Hyundai Elantra 2007. I used E6000 to glue them but cant use properly. Going to try your zip tie!! Thanks!!
Both my visors broken on my 2008 Hyundai Elantra. Tried so many other things. Never thought of a zip tie. You are a genius! So so glad I came upon this video. Thank you so much!⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Mine broke off at the inside..it doesn't really have any screws. I've no idea how I could even get it fixed at s practical price
Clever!!!
Love them zip ties.
i would tie wire and an arc welder
Stupid fix...I fixed mine in a much simpler and quicker and more efficient way plus also visually pleasing way. Your fix looks like shit with the tie wraps. What I did is I slid the visor of the rod on which it is mounted and then slipped a piece of surgical tubing over the plastic part of the rod and slipped the visor back onto the rod and over the surgical tubing and VOILA! no more sagging visor...the perfect fix...like new in all ways and even better. If you don't have surgical tubing use a latex household glove and cut of one of the fingers and slip that over the rod instead...works just as well....
No need to show your dissatisfaction here. He showed us how to save dollars and we are thankful for that. Why don’t you make a video of your invention and show us how good yours is instead of criticising other people’s good work?
@@sansui77 Exactly.
Way better than what the dealer said - "must" replace whole visor - over $250 for visor plus installation cost. Thank you so much. Genius!
BRILLIANT. I love QUALITY fixes for ZERO dollars (I keep a supply of zip ties). Thanks Joe.
Just what I needed, THANK YOU
So many Hyundais with broken visors.
LMAO I FUCKING FELT
A genius 😌
good
You deserve a thumbs up!!!!!!
Good one!
Watch this one and it it works so much better czcams.com/video/PPLhy_fw1M0/video.html
Saved me $35 for some random amazon replacement. If it works, it ain't stupid.
I am going to try this for my 2007 Elantra. I hope this works.
07'elentra problems!!!
Dude you're brilliant. Fixed my '05 Elantra visor problem. It won't swing to the side, tho with the zip tie in place. Who cares, I'm saving $137
Worked perfectly on my 2008 Elantra ! Only had one zip tie to work with, so it was a little hard to latch the ends together since one zip tie is short. Kept trying for like an hour or so, but finally, success! Some temporary detachment of visor (with the wire still on) & some sliding & forcing & tadah! Locked! This was definitely a wallet saver, so I appreciate this video. Definitely have someone help you out if you’re working with only one zip tie. If not, make sure you have a long zip tie or use two, as mentioned by one commenter on here. To Joe: How are your visors with the zip ties doing these days? Are the zip ties still holding up? Thank you once again for your video
but can you still use it to block sun from the side window?
Yes. It still swings out that way just fine.
If u pay attention the zipties are were the screws are👌🏽so yes. It should work just fine
I use zip ties all the time but this application would never have occurred to me! After two "fixes" that lasted maybe a year each, I was searching for another idea and this is great. Headed out to do it now! As someone else mentioned, I think I'm going to link 2 ties together to make it easier
Great tip on using a razor blade All other videos say just pull hard and that wasn't working for me. Tried a small screwdriver and that didn't work but a razor blade did the trick.
Worked perfectly on a 2012 Forester. Many thanks!
